Long time since I've seen one of those!!!

And by the time you'd saved up enough coupons you'd have smoked yourself to death

Green Shield Stamps were a better bet and healthier too...

Anyone remember pink stamps? I remember mum used to collect them but I can't think where she got them from now - one of the supermarkets perhaps?

The chap who does the Ceefax Duvet Cover, has quite a catalogue of images which appeal to me of nostalgic brands, and in particular things from TV /Radio and the like.

You will not be surprised to know that you can have a Green Shield Stamps T-Shirt, and indeed should you desire a green shield stamp Duvet cover!

S&H Pink stamps were the British equivalent of S&H Green stamps in the USA but don't remember them myself.

Stop Press!

Tyne and Wear Archives service comes up with the goods!

http://blog.twmuseums.org.uk/double-dividends/

After the blurb about "Green Shield Stamps" all is revealed.

I suspect you must have had a "Fine Fare" in your vicinity. (and yes Nic Horne at Redbubble can supply a Fine Fare T-Shirt still!)

Well done Neil =D> Well found! That's it, it was indeed Fine Fare... I can even picture the shop in Bridgewater.... That's going back to the 60s...

I love the teeshirts 8-)

Fine Fare was taken over by Gateway I believe, who then were taken over by Somerfield and then in turn, taken over by the Co Op...

Hence why we have the odd situation of having two Co Ops opposite each other in Newport Pagnell High Street... One was always a Co Op whilst the other was a Gateway, then a Somerfield and now a Co Op...

International Stores comes into this equation somewhere too...

Unless I do 8 random posts on the bounce before 12.00 (ain't going to happen) the OTCL -20 a day habit is going to fall short today.

Still I'll take it up to 12 ish with a random selection of tab packet artwork from the past. As ever if you want to find it it's on the internet somewhere.....probably more tab packet brands and pictures than you could wish for click on a letter list of brands comes up and dredge up the picture of the tab packet.

I am not saying there aren't more useful ways to spend your time of course :!: :-D

Unfortunately, nothing remotely interesting has happened to me today. The most interesting part was stripping down a chainsaw so I could inspect the piston, only to find it's scored and only fit for a gear stick knob :)

Thats what its for Jim, and the good thing about the FCF room 101, there is no need to arbitrate with anyone to justify putting something in, if you want it in its in, no arguments :!: :-D

My 101 candidates are:-

loyalty schemes (a cheap, underhand way to garner personal data almost by fraud)

the latest, hugely irritating, "Please hold on, the bus is about to move" announcements on all London buses, regardless of whether there are any standing passengers, & usually approaching a stop.
Citroens:-
'81 2CV Club
'05 C15 :!:
'97 Xantia Exclusive estate [-o<
others:-
Jeep XJ Cherokees x 3 :?
'96 Cadillac Eldorado
'99 Cadillac STS :|
& the numerous "abandoned projects" #-o

Yes at 22.35 on January 28th this post takes us to 600 since since the 62,000th post on January 4th lets say 25 days including the 4th.

So 600/25...an average of 24 posts/day

Ticking along quite nicely now
