P3027 Flowmeter signal Air flow too low

Post by maciejz »

Hello.

I can't get rid of the P3027 Flowmeter signal Air flow too low fault in my Citroen C5 X7 RHR 2.0 HDI Sedan from 2009. The problem is occuring since I bought the car.

I replaced all filters, the air sensor (to NTY ECT-CT-000), I cleaned my air intake.

If I clear the faults, the P3027 fault appears again right after ignition. Always. I haven't noticed any symptoms personally, but I haven't driven any other car of my model.

What may be a reason for the fault?

Some aftermarket sensors fail right out of the box. I would try to get an "expensive" one from another brand to confirm or not.

Seimens/VDO are the reliable and OEM ones (VDO a Siemens spinoff company)

I have had something similar with other cars - cleaning the element of the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) has worked - use brake cleaner and never touch the wire. But failing that then a quality replacement sounds like the next thing to try.

Have you looked at live data from the flowmeter? what does it read at idle?
To confirm are you saying that after you clear the fault & switch just the ignition on (without starting the engine) the fault code comes straight back? or does the fault only come back once the engine has been running?

There are special air mass sensor cleaners, e.g. from Liqui Moly No.4066. All other cleaners are suboptimal.

Please check the multi-pole wiring harness - such faults are often caused by defective cables or connections - the power connection in particular is suspect.

A suitable wiring diagram would be helpful.
