Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi. The original steering wheel in my C2 was starting to peel. Wasn't too bad at first but of course it slowly got worse and after a recent trip to Germany it was sticky and not very nice to hold. Plus I always thought it was an ugly looking wheel. With another trip to Germany in it again in September I decided to change it for a nicer looking one...

before getting stuck into a blog proper, a bit of history might be in order :)

My entry into the world of Xantia ownership happened somewhat by accident. Until I acquired a Xantia, I had been a confirmed Peugeot owner, having run 405 diesels for a good few years and branching out into the ownership and restoration of a Peugeot 205GTi for fun....

Well, obviously I wasn't going to stay Citroen-free for long.
Today I bit the bullet and went and gave a nice man some money and my 207 for the 08 plate Picasso GP that I saw on Thursday that had a knackered clutch.

Clutch has been replaced. Invoices and warranty for 40k. Drives nicely now and it all works so far. It's a 1.8 Petrol engine, 5...

Found a use for the 42mm GS crank bolt socket (which has been used once about 40 years ago!) - had to put a new bearing in the real wheel of my bike (it has sealed bearing races rather than cup and cone). Needed to support the hub whilst I drove the new bearing in, and the 42mm socket was just the right size :-D

In 2007 we purchased this Xantia V6 with 27,000 miles on the clock from the daughter of an elderly gentleman who had died.

Since we've had it we've given it a full set of spheres, set of new Michelin tyres and plugs and leads as it started to miss quite badly.

I don't remember a vacuum reservoir, but I would not be surprised if there is one.

The wastegate control system is self calibrating, you don't need to do anything.

Have you checked that the little filter on the atmospheric port of the control valve is not blocked?

Hi all, I recently acquired a C5 Exclusive with a couple of problems namely non functional wipers. I've read a few threads on here about it and I think (hope) that's in hand now.

Have removed the pos.6 maxi fuse, but happened nothing. Problem still exists. Also find a 30A burned out fuse positioned into G40. One and only fuse that I found burned in the whole car.
But moving 80A fuse to pos.4 from pos.3 have solved the problem. Everything is fine. No Lexia was needed.

I’ve changed the thermostat and bled the car several times and now it’s running too hot. It’s not overheating but under normal conditions it’s running at 100ish and turning the heaters on keeps it at bay. The fan kicks in a bit later now. So I’m either blaming the new thermostat or it’s simply not bled correctly yet. I can get it pressure bled...

Models with the AMVAR system have 2 suspension computers. One in the BHI and the other CSS is a separate one. On these models each has a separate function, but work together with the CSS computer controlling the suspension ECU in the BHI.

It could be a bit risky as the suspension heights are retransmitted to the BHI computer, so removing the CSS...

So the C5 X7 with xenon headlights uses a specific light bulb for the corner lights. The HP19W bulb to be precise and as far as I know it's the only car that uses that light bulb and only with the xenon headlights. On normal headlights it's a standard H7 bulb. That makes it difficult to find a LED replacement. Needles to say that while writing...

Bought this end of last year .. in really good condition, original paint and, rare for a hot 306, it also avoided the Max Power era. Less than half the Topic price too.

I'm starting a clutch job on my Activa, sry if this has been covered somewhere this thread but is it necessary to drop the subframe to get the gearbox out?

When we visited my wife's sister in Nashville I heard about the Lane Motor Museum but never could quite get to it. What I didn't realise then was how eclectic and European parts of the collection was. I wish I knew then what I discovered in this YouTube video

This is my current fleet:

The C5 is an SX model with optional Leather/Ambiance pack, 2 liter 136hp EW10J4 engine with the manual box. Only one previous owner and Its an ´04, so it has the stainless exhaust and superior :) drive by wire throttle.
About 100k uk miles on it, the interior is in very good condition. The exterior needs some work...

I have now changed the bonnet, right front wing, bumper and headlight support bracket.
Bumper and wing are freshly painted. The new bonnet is in the wrong shade, left wing needs to be replaced due to corrosion and my painter forgot to paint the grille.
So i will get those repainted in a while...
Treated it to a polish and ceramic coat...

Fitted the new Rear Door Restraint Arm today. Lasted all of 1 second! The moulded in studs ripped out when I closed the door.

Coachwerks in Victoria BC restored the bodyshell of my 1966 Peugeot 404C Injection, number 4598609.

Note the KF2 Injection engine, now on the stand in the photo

The new old stock body panels (floors, front and rear wings, other panels, all in NOS) were dropped off at the blasting shop in November 2016.

I'll update this from time to time and...

That’s very good, locally I get about 20mpg which is ok given she weighs over 2t and I thrash it about, on a steady run, if I can keep to 50-55mph I can get up to 28mpg, more is achievable but the problem is that due to aerodynamics (lack of) it is most economical at 40mph, and nobody has the time or patience for 40mph unless it’s a quiet B road...

I hope anyway..

I sold my 2.2 16v vtx on and took a 2004 vtr 2.0 8v 110 hdi manual in part ex.. With known small issues..

A look over and a session with lexia pointed towards a dodgy glow meter and I saw two vac pipes the wrong way round to the electro valve..

So I fitted a decent flow meter and instantly
Noticed a freeer revving engine...

A further update. I never got the car back sadly. At about 205k the clutch gave up.. And sadly the owner decided to cut losses..

Never mind. Other things came.. As posted else where..

So the end if this 1.6 16v hdi.. It has now sadly lost its life but served very well indeed..
