Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

We have a 2010 C5 x7 2.0HDI VTR+. I am selling it to a mate and wanted to stop the alternator rattle before he purchases it.
I have done all the suspension joints, engine mounts, offside driveshaft and timing belt and water pump so the car is worth keeping for the longer term.
I broke my tools trying to undo the Alternator Pulley.

Hope I'm posting in the most appropriate section.

I'm looking for an Auto locksmith that's proficient on the mechanical side of the locks. Parents have a keyless entry Micra, that won't accept the emergency blade key, that needs fixing. I've removed the ignition lock so can send it anywhere, just need to find someone with the skills to fix it.

My car is in the garage at the moment. It wouldn't start and had fuel pump error codes - so they replaced the fuel pump. Still no joy, and now ECU error. Just thought I'd give Paul at Cool-Carz a shout after a cracking job sorting the Air Conditioning out on our C3.

They are a mobile service based in West Wales and in Bedford.

We had Paul come out to do a pressure test with nitrogen, which checked out ok, so then a full vacuum out, disinfect and re-gas. All for £70! Can't beat that for a mobile...

Hi all, had a problem with C5 estate Airbag Fault / Horn not working / Service light on.

Had several quotes locally Most wanted £50+ to diagnose Plus 200-400 to replace unit fitted. Not happy.

Read on here about Graeme in Bradford, Checked him out on ebay for repairing it. So booked an appointment, nice bloke, I asked about fitting cruise...

And then again when I needed to pay for the shipping but the filter on my internet router chose to give up the ghost..

On 21 August I ordered a replacement drive-shaft on line from someone offering an unbeatable price. + very reasonable p & p.

I also needed an oilseal but hadn’t found it - ’til after I’d placed the order. Apparently they have a flat rate p & p charge which meant the seal would’ve cost the same again so I phoned them, spoke to someone who I took...

Are all car components coated with rain soluble paint?

When I fiited a new TCA, I painted the cap of the ball joint black to match, 'cos that was bare metal. Nearly 6 months later, most of which the van's been parked there hardly a trace of paint anywhere.

Nearly had a coronary when a local firm mentioned on here wanted £388 just to refurbish trailing arms #-o

These guys fitted me a complete replacement subframe, swopped over discs, serviced calipers, changed hydraulic fluid £120 all in

Cant believe how much better car drives now it sits evenly and doesnt feel like its heading for nearest ditch...
