ECU misfire

Post by NickCUK »

Anyone know if the Lexia-3 interface can tell which plug is misfiring?

Also are there any settings in the ECU which can be configured differently such as strenght of spark?

It depends on the engine ECU not LEXIA. If the engine ECU supports individual misfire codes, even an OBDII code reader can extract them.
If you supply the engine ECU part number (printed on the engine ECU) someone like Wheeler might be able to tell you if they support individual misfire codes.
Most of the the engine ECU's used by PSA, that I have come across, just give you a P0300 "indeterminate misfire" code. Not of much help.

As far as "fiddling" with engine ECU parameters, the engine ECU manufacturers deliberately lock out the ability to change parameters. You can get the engine ECU "chipped" or change the ECU for an aftermarket unit.
