Thanks Marc.. the toshiba netbook already had my diaxbox running on it untill the HD broke. to was running xp and it wasn't to bad. Wasn't lightning, but it was OK. Im hoping w7 is less belotaed and runs a bit better on it..

The second netbook which had w7 from xp on it has now successfully installed diagbox. It failed first time.. I used it on our 207 for a session and it was fine from what I could see. I want to do another session on the xm to relok at the abs.. It has a rear sensor and power supply intermittent issues.

The problem is that the HDD had failed, requiring a replacement HDD. Windows 7 needs the BIOS to be at V2 or higher before it can install. Windows XP should work with a lower version of the BIOS (as the nebook was shipped with WinXP Home installed). As it seems the BIOS update program is designed to work within an O/S (and is not bootable) Paul will probably need to install WinXP, update the BIOS, then wipe WinXP and install Win7. Once this is done, and all of the relevant drivers are installed he can then try to install DiagBox.

I personally am running DiagBox (V7.15) on a Toshiba NB250 netbook (with Win7 Starter), and (while it is a bit slow) it seems to run properly.

Paul, it might be worth checking how much memory the NB100 has, and consider upgrading it to 2GB if necessary. DON'T try going to 4GB, as the processor cannot address that much (my NB250 won't even boot up with 4GB RAM, even if it meets the other criteria).

Great - back up and running again!

I am up and running but don't want the other netbook just sitting useless.. The battery is also OK it providing an hour or so of power. The samsung one is toast but I intend getting a battery.

A. Back up diagbox would be handy incase the Samsung goes tits up..

..... and it works. I was given a menu choice to install and chose 7 Home Basic to install as it only needs to be basic... and ... it worked. . no separate bios update needed unless Windows did this itself..

Windows will NOT do a BIOS update (as Microsoft will have no way of knowing what make/model of computer and level of BIOS it will be running on). That website I sent you the link to will get you to all of the relevant drivers (make sure to select Windows 7 32bit from the options), and I would consider updating the BIOS to the latest version, as Win7 may need the BIOS to be (as you said in the PMs) above V2.
