03 BERLINGO wipers

Post by citronut »

the wipers dont do a thing unless you pull FS1 then the vdash lights and indicator dont work, and the wipers sort of work intermitently,

were in on the DIS LEXIA do i find anything to do with sortting this out,
as a auto lecy say my machine should be able to sort it out because it is probably a software fault,

Do a global test & select switch module at steering wheel (which is the com2000) go into read paramiters, Can you see all the switch positions changing as you select all the different speeds ? if so then the com2000 looks to be ok.
Next go into BSI & auctuator tests, you should be able to auctuate all the speeds from there. Let us know what happens with these tests.

even running and actuater test on the wipers, my DIS LEXIA say's it has carried it out but the wipers did not budge, it also says no faults found under the wiper section,

i also cleared all other faults now the nout work, no dialoug with anything, no ignition lights,

but with ignition on the wipers move across the screen in one step at a time movements, the interior lamp flash's but dim and there is something in the under bonnet fuse box cycleing at regular interval's

BBBBBBBBB lingoooooooo's

well most odd,

i did test the battery voltage which was 12.10,

then before going off to lunch i diconected the battery, and left till last thing this after noon,

i thought i would re/conect the battery and try it, still no go so i hooked up jump leads and its startting now and back to the original faulty wipers,

Multiplex cars are known for doing all sorts of odd things when the battery is on its way out - the BUS doesn't seem to cope very well with low voltage!

yes Richard i understand that, but the battery was showing 12.10 volts on my volt meter, so to me that sudgest's the electronic's think there is insuficiant voltage availible,

this fault is now fixed, thanks to my local car electric's guy,

he ended up re/programing the wiper control,

i could have sortted it with my DIS LEXIA if i was not worried about upsetting the BSI,
