Paris Citroen museum?

Post by C.J. »

I'm sure someone mentioned to me many years ago, something about an massive underground Citroen museum in Paris. :?
Apparently full of concept cars, and fine examples of the entire range from decades of production.
Did I imagine this, or is it true? Anyone know? Can't find anything on the 'net, but would sure love to visit if it's true.

The 'Conservatoire' is outside Paris.

Is that what you're on about?

It is a real shame that it's not open to the public  I for one would love to go there!

Maybe they could be persuaded if a certain large group of Citroen enthusiasts worked something out

- hey I think they actually DO allow groups from Citroen enthusiast club to visit on pre arranged times. Apparently there is even a guide (like in a museum) who tells the party that it's not a museum, The cars appear to be set out with info plaquards (like a museum) to tell the group members what each car is about.

I think they're missing a trick not opening it up - think of the money they'd make and it could raise the profile of the marque if that's what they wanted.

They would make a fair amount of money, there must be reasons why they don't, after all a business is out to make cash!

It might be worth looking into that at some point if theres enough interest then.

I'd imagine the reason they don't open it to the public is that they don't want mouth-breathing cretins scratching the paintwork or robbing bits off irreplaceable one-of-a-kind cars. 8)

They did leave the Australian CCC in though:

Not implying that they're mouth-breathing cretins or anything...

The CCC recently visited the 'Conservatoire', IIRC they arrange a trip there around once a year. This weekend I'll be meeting up with some of the members who went so I'll see what I can find out.

Nice one. Keep us informed please.

Don't know where the 'underground' description of it came from, unless that meant underground' as in secret? :?
