Change language settings 207 sw with RD45 installed

Greetings from Germany,

I have replaced the built-in RD4 with a RD45, installed a hands-free microphone and I am quite happy with bluetooth and hands-free operation.

2 things bother me a little:
I cannot access the audio settings (bass/treble etc.), the menu is greyed out.

Languages available on the device are Chinese, French and English.
I have selected English now but would prefer to set it to German.

Device was bought on Aliexpress and had no VIN coding so installation was plug & play.

I it possible to activate the audio settings and to change the language to German?

That's likely because of this being a Chinese clone. Proper units need VIN coding and are configurable to the vehicle to allow additional settings and CAN communication. I think you are stuck without an original unit.

Well ok, perhaps I'll try to get a German device on a scrapyard then.
But I will need PP2000 and Diagbox then, right?

Not sure whether it makes sense to invest into this for a one time change, will never need it again I guess.

It is likely that any European market unit will have all European languages installed, Chinese takes up a lot of space, so most other langages are left out on SE Asian versions.

Yes, to VIN code it to your vehicle and check it's configured correctly.

No, it doesn't look like a full chip kit to me and probably won't work with full CAN vehicles.
