citroen c5 x7 2008

Post by Sergiu »

Hello guys, here again, I have a problem with my citroen c5. It won't raise to the normal drive height. It happen on the way to work, I got the message on board ,,Suspension fault max 90km/h ,, I know what this message means, that the fuse is bad and have no power to the pump.

I check the maxi fuse and everything is ok. I disconect the battery and conect back, the fault disapear, and when I press the buttons I can switch trough positions but the pump is not reacting. It is on the lowest position right now.

I connect the pump direcly to the battery and i feel It moved just a little bit, I take off the pump and I clean all contacts where the brushes are, they was very dirty ( some kind of paste of oil and dust from brushes ) when I connect it again directly to the battery I can hear it working like normal now. But still not working when connected to car

I connect lexia and I get this fault codes
C1141 Front body height sensor fault
C1146 Rear body height sensor fault even that I change both like 4 months ago
U1116 Suspension ECU data not valid, fault
U2005 Triggering ( vehicle speed receipt anomaly

Did somebody else had this problem before? and how you fix it? Thank you

I take it you removed the Pump off the car and it was disconnected from the suspension fluid lines etc......it could be "Air-locked"...... if so, it is good practice to pressurise the LDS tank to about 2-5.Psi (NO MORE) when refilling.....check levels in the LDS tank (do a search here on that) and (with the car set to LOW), turn the steering left to right about ten times (with no pause at extremes) to bleed the system, them repeat with it set to normal then high if it rises.

Are you sure the dog bones are connected to the height sensors ?

Did you lift the car with the wheels hanging when you removed the pump ?

2 BAR? That seems a lot, surely 2 psi?

I have never done this and am mentioning it out of caution. I may be completely wrong

Ohh crap.....you are correct to check 2/3 psi

And do the first set of turns with the system on LOW (or if you have, depressurised via the LEXIA controls.

yes, i depresurised the system with Lexia, I should hear a noise from pump if it works no? or if there is no presure then it's not starting?

you should achieve a similar cap (from a big bottle, any container etc.), drill an hole and put a tyre valve . I never done it before - Just an idea...

That method has been used on the forum previously. Also, at least one member has achieved the pressurisation by simply blowing into the reservoir.

Sometimes it helps, to loosen the bleed screw on the hydraulic unit on the backside, but be careful if it is stuck, don't break it!!

If you are going to undo a bleed screw make sure the car is on ramps or axle stands first since the suspension can quickly drop to a low level and you do not want to get squashed.

I was the one who (always) managed to get the pump going simply by blowing through my "funnelled" hand into the reservoir. :-D
It does not need much pressure to get things going.
You can always "seal it with a kiss" and blow directly (not recommended, although my friend does it that way because it's easier).

@dulenator you say that the pump is not starting if there is no presure? or it's runing but is not lifting the car? cause I am not able to hear my pump, when i test the pump with lexia, is dead, no noise at all. and I post the fault codes that i get. I delete them and still nothing happens
