One of our newest members is from Novi Sad in Serbia.
Now I bet you are wondering which is the only city in the United Kingdom to be twinned with Novi Sad.

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
This is my humble effort at capturing the fleeting moment of a rainbow in full bloom posted previously on POTD
This one is also quite a stunning rainbow shot, albeit with the help of a bit more equipment than me, (drone, top notch camera, maybe just a touch of after the event image processing and editing).
Featured in the Mail today, quite spectacular

OK, I did not take this photo today, but it was rather unusual, so (because of Neil's double rainbow photo) I present this one for your delectation;

The finest POTD' s are always the originals, but geograph often pops up an interesting POTD from its thousands of contributors.
So if you ever happen to be in the vicinity of Preston, and its docks you may come across this, and be inspired to take a snap as a memento of your visit

And people wonder why there aren't any coppers on the streets catching burglars and murderers - because they're all sat nice and warm in their cars giving people speeding tickets - pathetic! And they also wonder why they've lost public support....NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑16 Nov 2018, 08:36 From The "Metro" today and currently active in Gloucestershire.

Statistics might have something to do with that, 2017 figures, 709 deaths by homicide...…..1713 road traffic deaths.

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Deaths yes, but what about all the stabbings we here about almost on a daily basis now - not in the statistics of course as you have to actually die to become a statistic - and all the assaults and other incidents going unactioned as there are no coppers to come and deal with it. And of course we all now what a leading example the former commissioner Craig Mackey gave:
The car, that is, inside which then-acting Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Craig Mackey locked himself, as a man armed with a butcher’s knife murdered one of his officers before his eyes

Now now Marc let's not use such nonsense.

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Yes I saw that Marc but the rules are simple, and I've witnessed this first hand, unarmed police officers faced by armed and dangerous offenders must stand back and wait for the ARV.
The one I witnessed was a guy with a machete and his victim lying bleeding on the ground, unarmed cops and paramedics a hundred yards away but having to stand back and wait until the armed cops declared it safe to go after they'd tasered the offender.
That guy with the clever comments has been heading the team doing the TV series 'Celebrity Hunted' nowadays just another keyboard warrior.

The Milton Keynes 'Dockless' Electric Bike Hire scheme has been in the news recently...
Here's a still frame from my GoPro showing a clutch of them in Newport Pagnell near the Aston Martin complex...
Not a good picture as my bike camera was not looking at them directly...

POTD...69000 challenge
Yes today has seen the 69,000th post in the Off Topic Chat Lounge
69,000 themed pictures please for our entertainment.
This for example is the cruise ship Oriana at Greenock. Mention "cruise" and I imagine the Caribbean, or the Mediterranean but no there's an Ocean Terminal on the Clyde and plenty cruises sailing round Britain and Ireland, and onwards up to Iceland and Greenland.
So how does Oriana fit in with the 69,000 theme? Well to the nearest 1000 its Gross Tonnage is 69,000
Join in folks...you can do better thanmy effort
