Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
I'm just putting some instructions together for you and the Firmware links. I'll have them ready either alter tonight or in the morning for you. I have the individual updates up to the latest one, but I'm writing instructions with some diagrams as clearly as possible for you.

Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
Francis, I have decided to do a 'Sticky' on the MyWay section of the Telematics Forum to help others update their systems. As you can't account for members' individual IT skills, I have tried to be as clear as possible.
MyWay Firmware Upgrade Procedure
As for the firmware files themselves, I have sent you a Private Message with the links to download them from my archive.

Create the artist Folders in the root, then from there go into the artist folder and create the album folder. Then add the music files. Try and keep music song titles to 20 characters or less. Always come out of Music Player mode before removing the SD card from the unit.
Hi Mark and thanks for all the insrtuctions, tips and links you share here!
Now, I've been trying to make that SD card to play music in my P407 '09, with no avail to my regret .
I formated a 4 GB Sandisc SD card (20 MB/s) as Fat 32 on PC. Then I put an MP3 album on it with files in corresponding 3 folders (Artist/Album/Tracks). When I hit Music to select the SD Card as a Source, there was only CD and External device to choose. I did System reboot - to no avail, as well as the Factory reset. Neither one of these actions could introduce the SD card to the Headunit (RNEG, with firmware: r50b-r50-03).
The same card was previously used with no problem whatsoever to update the firmware to the current version of the HU.
Tried another Card (Verbatim 16 GB Class 10) - with same (no)results: Headunit still unaware of music SD Card inserted?
Of course, the System reads the card if the Navigation files are on it.
Not to mention ocasional Restarts of the unit, but that's some another topic...
Thanks for any tip you can come up with!
Slavko

Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
Hi Slavko
Since writing that, it appears that for the majority of people with MyWay, this function is not possible - despite the manual saying otherwise. As the MyWay is no longer made, it is unlikely this will change unfortunately. I've done a lot of research and there were several versions of the unit - but for the most part, the ability to play MP3 files from the SD card is not working.
Instead, consider creating an MP3 CD and putting all your MP3s on there as another solution - not ideal, but better than a standard CD! - Good luck.

Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
Appreciate such a quick reply!
Although, I was hoping to read something else...
I guess I'll just have to live with it!
Two more questions;
1: Is there anybody here that has music SD Card working on this unit?
2: What about occasional restart issues? Anybody solved that?
Thanks!

1. Unfortunately I havent found anyone with this feature working, I even checked the french citroen forums and well..... c'est impossible
2. I think that the restarting issue is not uncommon and unfortunately can be terminal, I believe it is related to the EEPROM on the device motherboard becoming faulty... again, another bit of bad news

Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
Hi - new here! I would like to update the myway software on my newly acquired 59 plate C5. The current version is:
rneg_D_R50b_R50.03
I'm having problems with the bluetooth. My Samsung S7 is connecting ok but I can't hear anything when making / receiving a phone call. They can hear me but nothing at all through the car speakers.
If there is a newer version of the software could I also get a link?
Cheers!

Hi Daddio (!) Welcome to the Forum
You are actually on the latest version of the firmware. There are no other updates for that system as present and unlikely to be so given the age.
What you can do:

What you can do:
- Unpair the phone from the C5 and and delete the profile on your Samsung, Be sure to delete the phone from the MyWay system - don't just disconnect it.
- Then try pairing it as a new phone (I appreciate that your contacts may take some time to re-synchronise again)
- Failing that, check that your Samsung has been updated - as updates to the phone software may include Bluetooth compatibility updates
- Try another Bluetooth phone and see if that has the same issues

I'll give that a go - cheers. Wish I hadn't wasted time putting mp3's on an SD card either...

Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
Yes, it was a documented feature in most of the manuals, but in reality it seems it never made it into practice.

More like Crapple's IOS at present - MS is fine and working a treat, dare I say, but them I'm running beta software, so usually road test the proposed features before they are rolled out en masse.

Re: MyWay / RNEG Issues
Hi,
New citroen owner here, I have a 2010 c5, noticed that my car doesn't seem to have the voice activation, when I press the button on end of indicator stalk it just says navigation not active, my head unit has sat nav and built in Bluetooth just trying to figure out my way around this unit, maybe my firmware needs to be updated the version I have is rneg_D_R27bis_R27. 01
Any help would be appreciated.
Dean
