swapping seats on my XM??

Unread post by Paulxmski »

Hi all,
I want to replace the velour seats with some black leather ones. I looked under the front seats and saw two bolt heads for each chair. These seem to be the only thing that can be holding the seats on the rails n'est pas??
Also the sei has a motorised adjustable central armrest nice but stupid really?? [;)]
(I use a can of windscreen de-icer in the armrest box to prop up the velour one to the right height. It has the advantage that under sudden braking it shoots back into the box and the lid slams shut. This might not be be very good however if one happened to be leaning hard on the armrest as it might cause the left arm to tug the steering causing a sudden vere to the left (in a right hand drive car) or vice versa, however I don't lean on it but just use it as an occasional rest.)
As the motorised armrest is part of the sei caboodle I would like to fit it. Anyone know if the loom of the SI will have a spur for this feature [:)]??

Having removed the centre panel containing the code keypad mirror controls and assorted switches I found an unconnected orange connector block. I suspect this is the armrest motor connector block can anybody confirm this please?

Thanks Nigel,
I would greatly appreciate that PDF if you've still got it.
