Xantia key fob NEW BUTTONS needed

Unread post by willhay33 »

Have 98 Xantia, the remote fob is the 2 button type but the rubber buttons have eroded on mine, some one did mention you could buy these but no idea where?
Cheers,
Will

They may be available from the dealer themselves if no one else has anything. The earlier design of remotes (for other models) you can get (or could get?) the rubber inserts separately.

Just a thought, work asking them if no one else comes up with a supplier.

I have recently renewed the remote key rubber.
Unfortunately I had to deal with the "main stealer".

There are two key rubbers in the plastic bag.
You can sell the other one if there's someone who needs to buy 8-)

Indeed; nice touch that you get two. I have a spare, but wrong country!

From Service.citroen:

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT
00009926FE DIAPHRAGM 6.56 GBP 7.71 GBP 7.71 GBP

Presume that is each, so if you have to buy 2, then it is a bit steep!

No, the buttons have slightly different embossings! You also get a replacement screw for the fob halves.

This is not very important but since I found the plastic bag which had the key fob DIAPHRAGMs , I wanted to inform you as well.
The part number is seen as in RichardW's post and Quantity is marked as 1.

So the package contains 2 key DIAPHRAGMs and also the mini screw of the key fob.
All this is for 7.71 GBP 8-) Not bad price for the "main stealer" :)

Spot on Vertavega, being S2, the rubbers are very easyily replaced!

Unlike S1 Fobs which seemed to be glued to the Fob house!

IF you have your fob and BOTH buttons, I have succesfully soldered them back onto the board!!!

PM me if interested... as for programming a new one, you'll need a Lexia Session to do that...

Lexia session? Does that have to be a dealer or can any mechanic with a computer do it?

Lexia is the Diagnostic Computer Interface that Citroen cars "Talk" to for Fault Finding..

Theres a fair few on the Fourm who have one, or a Chineese "Copy" - me included.. VERY usefull for models with Hydractive syspension (VSX, Exclusive and Activa Models) and Even more usefull for HDi engine'd cars!
