Here's an excellent pug 306 forum I used to frequent when I had one:
http://www.pug306.net/forum/index.php
All dedicated to the 306,standard,modified,tuned,lots of techy expertise.
You'll have to join (free) to see / post etc.
P.s, it's a young persons kinda forum, they have some hilarious rants..ahem...discussions on there

306 rear axle
All 306`s have two torsion bars, one for each radius arm.All you need to know when getting a replacement is ABS? Rear discs or Drums.Have a look at www.sspengineering.co.uk I have used them a number of times for recon Peugeot rear axles without problems.

306 rear axle
A torsion bar is a "spring",Two rear wheels, two rear radius arms,TWO TORSION BARS!! one for each corner. There is a role bar which is hidden inside the cross tube and if its on a parts illustration page may look just like a torsion bar.Sorry to sound like a big head but I`ve stripped 100`s of Peugeot rear axles.
