Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

The camera is supposed to be calibrated with the software in Diagbox to calibrate it using parking bay lines (and a lot of specific conditions). Remember the camera is not itself centred, but off to the left as you look at it from behind. I would ignore the towing hitch as that's not important - but ensuring the camera is programmed correctly...

It has nothing to do with the VIN. The BSI, Engine ECU and Transponder fobs are a paired set. These are paired at the factory. If either the BSI or the Engine ECU have been replaced or swapped, they wont work unless configured and paired with the existing units and this can only be done once, unless the replacement part is sent off to be wiped. I recently decided on trying to keep a 2010 C5 VTR Plus Nav 1.6 Hdi Estate (steel spring suspension) alive for a few more years. It has been a good reliable vehicle for last 10yrs ownership but needed new clutch and timing belt replacement, and steering had gone ‘Lumpy’ – 110,000miles on clock.

Your title does say 'What to look for?' I'd suggest .. a different car!! In my view having owned 4 C5's you would be much better off seeking out an older MK1 or Mk2 car with sensible mileage and all the kit you may need. For me the steering rack issues alone were enough to stay away from the Mk3 but I also found their seats a trifle...

You may have cleaned the DPF, but unless you have a diagnostic tool like Lexia / Diagbox and told the engine ECU you have replaced the DPF, then this won't make a bit of difference, as it has no way to know you have done this.

That's correct, main dealer diagnostics are about £100-120 an hour. You're supposed to be paying for the training and expertise of the technicians. So unless you can find a specialist that knows what they're doing, then you could end up paying far more than that by the time you've spent a lot on unnecessary parts and gone from garage to garage....

I'm looking for a C5 Tourer and came across one at a very good price the seller informs me that there is a leak on one of the vehicle's rear left hydraulic suspension in the low position - the price is very tempting but what could be the problem? Is it perhaps expensive to repair?

Quantity of oil to fill after draining: 2,1 ± 0,1 litres.
Quantity of oil to fill after an overhaul: 2,2 ± 0,1 litres.

Oil quality: 75W80.

I recently started having issues with my 2007 Citroen C4 1.4 16v, and my initial thought is it has something to do with the fuel delivery system, more precisely, a potentially clogged fuel filter.

Main symptoms are:

Losing power when applying throttle (especially on the initial start in first gear, cold engine)
Shaking when under load,...

Before you do any changing of parts, it really needs to be properly diagnosed. Those symptoms can be down to anything air or fuel related, so better to get a diagnostic with Diagbox done first and then put any fault codes up here with your VIN.

This is a puzzle...it could just be down to a loose electrical connection. If all those parts have been replaced and still not sorted the problem then that's what I'd go with. I would of initially checked the connectors to everything. And do a complete reset of the system. Citroens are known to have funky electrics

I have looked to see if this question is covered elsewhere, but don't think so? Sorry if being dorf!

Citroen Xsara Picasso tow bar wiring.

Just fitted a towbar to the car to tow a small trailer.

The towbar came with a wiring kit which included relay for use when certain circuitry was installed on the car .

The relay supplied is a TEB7AS 7 Way Universal Relay including buzzer.
Is this a necessity on this vehicle or can I just install a buzzer for the indicators?

Hi,
I have recently had the injectors replaced on the above vehicle, however, since replacement, 2 clamps have since snapped.
I have now ordered a complete set of 4 from my local Citroen agent plus matching bolts.
Has anyone else suffered this issue, is it an easy job for a relative novice to replace these at home.

Sounds a bit sketchy, i'm guessing all they are doing is mapping the ECU to ignore & block all fault codes relating to the SCR system, the system may still work but if it did stop working you would have no idea that it has stopped working as if the system is not working it wont display any errors. I suppose you would realise when you aint had to...

I had budgeted that I'll want to change the cambelt, as the car has only done 50k but is a 14 plate, a rough guess is hopefully around the £400/500 mark, but well worth it for piece of mind.

I’m about to bite the bullet and make up copper brake pipes for my 2001 berlingo. But need some info please

Well, more failure to report !
I paid a bit more for the pipe and tried out the ‘on-car’ flaring tool. The pipe looks very brassy coloured, but certainly stronger than plain copper. Followed instructions on YouTube for flaring tool which worked well on first trial. But a second flare failed miserably and the thread on the tool just stripped out....

My mechanic is struggling to access information about the connections between the BSI and ECU.
My van is completely dead and he thinks that the BSI is Unable to communicate with the ECU, possibly due to a wiring fault.

Van lock latch not opening

Hello,

Hope someone can help, the rear doors on citroen dispatch 15 plate won't open, all the other doors open and lock but the rear door latch is stuck.
Won't open with central locking or manually with key ? Tried l to move latch from inside with a screwdriver but won't budge.
Is there a way to release from the inside?

If you jack it up you can remove the underlay which may then allow you to reach up the back of the radiator and spring the bonnet catch. But you should be able to manually unlock the doors with the key to get access?
