Can somebody please help me I’m away to buy a Citroen ds3 I don’t know the vin number but I have the reg…. Apparently the dealership said the timing belt doesn’t need done till 64000 miles, it’s a 2013 plate, surely by the age of it, it should be done? Thanks

What engine? Even if it's low miles, at over 10 years old it really wants changing.

You haven't said Petrol / Diesel.

I really need the VIN as this will vary between engines. but absolutely, it must be 10 years or earlier if the mileage has not been reached. 64k miles tends to be for petrol 1.2 EB2 engines.

If it's a Prince Petrol Engine it will have a timing chain.

For diesels:
On a DV6DTED Euro 5 it's 110k miles / 10 years
For a DV6C engine it is 149k miles / 10 years

But the above can't be guaranteed without the specific VIN.

If it's a 1.6 petrol it will be chains in a Prince engine, and you'd be better running in the other direction anyway!

Again, if you can provide the VIN (visible from the outside windscreen) we'll be able to provide a definitive answer to your question, as again there are different engine variants fitted.
