I'll be there too barring unforeseen problems.

Excellent, I have booked a dinner table at The Angel for four at 7pm. Of course it could be enlarged should anyone else want to come along!!

Re: Mick's Motoring Wales Wander
Still no news from PaulXM so meeting is open to suggestion. Our day on Saturday basically takes us along North Wales to Colwyn Bay so open to suggestions.
With regard to Sunday the rough route through Lancs is this:
so it would be good to have a meet along the route for lunch/tea/dinner according to where it is? Mattb, I'm aiming this at you

Apologies for the slow response (and procrastination on my part!)
Yes, I should be good for the 21st. I'm (prepared for me sounding very jet set, and am really not!) abroad with work the week before but should be home and dry by Friday.
I'm trying to persuade the family to join me on the "meet some folks off the internet" trip and think we'll try and combine it with catching some if this "St George's Day Run" details here:
https://nwcasualclassics.online/wp/even ... -run-2024/
Great Sankey is Warrington but I think the start time is likely too early to align with your travels,This year our St Georges Day Run starts from the Hayloft in Great Sankey and takes in some great roads and scenery as it travels to Heskin Hall in Wrightington.
The Hayloft will be open at 10.00 and you may purchase a full breakfast or simply tea/coffee. Please note the Hayloft only accepts card payments – no cash.We plan to start the Run from 10.30. The journey is 28.95 miles so averaging 21mph you should be at Heskin Hall between 12.00 and 12.30.
Heskin Hall - a bit too far north? Though aligns with (northern definition) "Dinnertime" (the mid-day meal not the one before bed! )
Perhaps me and family could watch some of the Run departure, then meet up with you fir something to eat, then could head up to Heskin Hall after that.
Actually, look at your route map - checking: are you heading to Anson Engine museum? (As think is open Fridays only, other than bank holidays)

Re: Mick's Motoring Wales Wander
Not on the plan to go to the museum Matt, Just a drive through the route to Matlock, so we should be able to be in the Warrington area around 1-2 I would think. Can that work?

Ah, looked at the map zoomed in and so now see "lunch" marked up for Liverpool, so definitely timing doesn't align for 10:30 at Warrington,
So watch the run, then head to Liverpool, for lunch sounds like a plan

Yes, lunch in Warrington at 1 - 2 sounds eminently doablemickthemaverick wrote: ↑07 Apr 2024, 18:53 Not on the plan to go to the museum Matt, Just a drive through the route to Matlock, so we should be able to be in the Warrington area around 1-2 I would think. Can that work?

Re: Mick's Motoring Wales Wander
The original plan of Liverpool for lunch was because PaulR was possibly joining us but he has another engagement on the day now so we can move Lunch further East if it helps. I'll await your research!!

Just dumping ideas down here at moment: more procrastination sorry, planning to follow

North west transport museum, open Sundays, buses mostly. £6, not sure if any cafe,
At Helens (roughly between Liverpool and Warrington)
Other research to follow..

Re: Mick's Motoring Wales Wander
The countdown has begun, 5 days to go and it will be Wales here we come. So far only the one confirmed meeting with Gibbo and Forrester on Thursday evening in Coleford. I'm hoping to hear from Paul-R and MattB re possible meet venues on Saturday and Sunday respectively plus anyone else in the area so far undeclared?
