Gosh, I'm shocked at some of the intervals recommended for some items I'll be doing mine a lot more often than that... Cambelt/waterpump especially...
So, the cambelt's a bit of a blighter then? That'll be an interesting challenge... I'm sure no harder than an XUD11 2.1TD Prove me wrong

I'm almost on the due of replacing the timing belt, thanks in advance!GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑21 Jul 2022, 09:40 @eddieoliver45: Please pop your VIN up for me (automasked on post submission) and I'll be able to advise on the timing belt service interval for your specific vehicle.
Yes the labour is the killer on this operation, hence why the pulleys and tensioners and water pump replacements are generally undertaken at the same time so you can generally forget about repeating all the labour later to do the pump etc.

I replaced th belts and rollers/waterpump on my 09 Picasso HDI a few weeks ago, the kit from my local factors was made by SKF and had everything in it, cost £86.00 with my trade discount, straightforward enough, the timing pins are just bolts, easy enough to scrounge around if you have an untidy garage like mine, I loosen the crank pulley using the starter motor and a big breaker bar, most awkard bit was refitting the aux belt simply due to the shape of the body and the new belt being stiff, the car has some history and 129,000 miles but no mention of a belt so in order to sleep at night I bit the bullet, the aux belt was a bit noisy so that was done at the same time, anyone who has done the job on older XUDs will be familiar enough with the job and should not have any problems. the old belt was made by Dayco, not sure if that is OEM or not?
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

@eddieoliver45
I recently needed to pay £535 for a timing belt change on my 2008 1.6HDi (small garage, not a Citroen specialist). That included coolant replacement.
However I believe my tensioners were not done for that price.
