Thanks Marc
I am not that well up with Tech stuff so will try a BSI reset first and see if that gets it back working but think i will probably have to go down the route of Dealer firmware upgrade as you originally suggested in this thread or just accept that i can get a bluetooth speaker to work with the phone

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Well just a quick update
I deleted all paired phones and left it like that, used a blue tooth speaker for the phone connections.
Let my boy use the car for a couple of days last week and he called me on his way home after pairing his phone to the car.

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Ok, so if all is working then I'd suggest leaving the firmware as it it Colin

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Sorry for dragging up an old thread but...
Happy with the car and everything working and not going to update the firmware but i would like to update the maps if that is possible.
My current map file is from 2010 so is there anyway to update them as a stand alone procedure?
Not worried about postcode entries happy to use it as it is with city/road/number/POI etc just would be nice to have the maps themselves updated.
No great rush just would like to know if it is still possible to do and how the process works.
Thanks in advance
Colin

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Maps can generally be updated regardless of firmware. However some systems require a particular firmware to be able to run some features of alter maps.
Just go ahead and update your maps as usual. Be aware that if this is for the MyWay (RNEG) system (with SD card in front of Head Unit), then the latest official map update was 2018-2.
Maps for RT6 are still current and available, with versions for 2022 / 2023
Map instructions are available from the website Colin:

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
In that case we must be talking about your C4, which is an RT6, therefore the updates are supplied as a download and you use a USB to update them (see my updated post ^)

Thanks Paul
Looks like i really need to get the maps from Citroen just need to double double check that the firmware will not cause issues as mine is the first and original version and looking at what is available non Citroen is asking for firmware higher than mine.
Need to dig out the Vin and see how much Citroen will charge

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
The latest genuine PSA maps download is freely available legally at https://psa.download.navigation.com/aut ... 1-2001.ZIP
You will then need either a code to install it into the RT6 or to use Mirascripts to remove the need for this code.
NOTE
If you get the message...
Access to psa.download.navigation.com was denied
You don't have authorisation to view this page.
...then there are two workarounds. If you highlight the URL and then press the Enter button on the keyboard then you still get the error message but the ZIP starts to download. It was going to take 25 minutes so I cancelled the download but it appears to be the correct file by its size.
Note that clicking on the Reload button on the screen or pressing F5 do NOT prompt the download.
You can also right click on link and choose "open link in a new private window". It will start downloading.
This is in Chrome on a Windows machine. I don't know about other browsers or operating systems.

Downloaded ok but here is the fun bit
I will need to get a code as i have no idea how Mirascripts work. So guess this will not be allowed to be discussed on the forum lol.

Yes, because 'Here' maps are licenced and copyrighted Colin and discussions circumventing that won't be allowed for obvious reasons.

Re: Firmware/Map update advice needed
Your VIN is fine. Sometimes the website can be a bit glitchy - just make sure you don't have any additional spaces at the end or before.
