I think the writing was on the wall when yesterday both you and Steve failed to identify the Original Heardle.

It was currently the most played track on the planet, by our Taylor. :-D Anti-Hero.

I still dip in from time to time, but at least the Pickled Egg Quiz after heardles dominated postings can now return to its traditional questions :-D

I don't care for her at all so would never have got it. She looks OK but even there she is now too plastered with makeup to be of any interest. She was very attractive a few years ago. Ruined.

I have listened to a few things that she has done, like this:-

Dreadful. Much prefer the other Taylor (Momsen).

May be a bit to erotic for some.

Same applies to most of the stuff that Heardle dish up.
Not one recognised today and I wouldn't listen to any of them.

What two things do you need, indeed.

Well the Catesby Tunnel project's latest proposed addition breaches the Local Authorities own planning guidelines.
The Chelfham Viaduct avoided demolition in the 1940s and was restored in the 2000s - partly with aid from the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway Trust.

I don't always respond on this thread but I do enjoy reading and researching it.

Cheers

Thanks Dave, you have restored my faith in FCF Pickled Egg Quiz participation to the extent that here's another which I thought was a decent one from Only Connect last night. Not to everyone's taste but I have grown to like it, although get some particularly clever clogs teams on and you don't get a chance to have a go at the answer because they get it too soon.
Question number 1

Here it is what is the fourth in this sequence :?:

As I completely missed yesterday's poser I think it only right to have a go at this one. However to avoid spoiling other member's musing I shall put the rest of my thinking in a spoiler! :-D
Spoiler: show
On looking at the picture it is pretty obvious that the fourth element will begin with 'West =" so we need something that applies to the points of the compass. It needs to be something consistent whereby when the 'if' condition is met then the other 3 facts will follow so what could 'S____' stand for representing South? "Saudi" ?, only thing that comes to mind but I have no idea of the equivalent names for the rest so discarded! ? ? ? ? ? Are the points of the compass more significant than just the directions they indicate? When do we use a compass ? Hiking? Navigating? Sailing? Planning?

Looking at those:
Hiking could S be shoes? B be Bog ?- nothing to fit the rest comes to mind,
Navigating - could S be steps? - again nothing else is obvious
Sailing - could S be sails? no err...    could it be STERN ? then East would be Starboard, North would be Bow which all fits and therefore West would be Port!!

So my answer would be West= Port!!! :-D

Pretty sure it wouldn't have been much good on the show because that has taken me almost 20 minutes to figure out though only a few minutes to type!! :-D

Question number 2

Here it is what is the fourth in this sequence :?:
The answer is in the FCF
The answer is in the FCF
Now that may require being on the same wavelength as the question-setter (hardly likely) same pattern as Question 1 so a bit of help. It's in a post made in December 2022.
