Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
I had a Transit van that was sold and due to be collected, it just needed an mot retest, coming away from the test centre I encountered a half grown lamb in the middle of the road, instead of moving out of the way it turned and head butter the middle of the transit bonnet put a huge dent in it and smashed the radiator, fan and pully.
Customer had to wait a few days while I repaired it.

Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
I have just spotted a post on Instagram about funny notices, and the third one had me in stitches. It read as follows;
Comfort Inn.
Now Pet Friendly!
Except for Bears. We're not making that mistake again.

We get a lot of that down here Jim, they will dive on you just as you are putting the food into your mouth - and its gone. Happened to our son at least twice.

It does seem a problem Peter although all the gulls we met on the Saunter were very well behaved... Maybe they'd already eaten or realised we were not very valuable to them

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
At the running event I enjoyed yesterday...
I know I have... Except for Cross-Country Running, the proper sort where one gets muddy, cold and wet out in the wilds, I absolutely hated school PE...
Running was never really encouraged or seen as a real sport at my school. Cross-Country was confined to winter when the rugby and football pitches were unusable...
Gosh, did I ever hate rugby, cricket, football and anything else involving a ball...

I think my PE or PT as it was in those days teacher was completely right - the only 'sport' I am any good at is table tennis.

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
We didn't have either at my school. Twice a week we had a single period called 'Gym' which wasn't necessarily indoors and each week we had a 'Games' period starting with a double period, 80 mins, in years 1 and two and then extending to a full afternoon in years 3-5 where I played a fair few ball sports from Rugby to Golf and finally spent the last year sailing!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
I can't even do that. I never did PE in school, all seemed too silly and would go to a maths or science class and say the PE teacher had sent me. No-one ever questioned it.
Can't abide any form of sport or games.

My dad was a keen footballer, I think I must have been a great disappointment to him, the only time he took me to the ground at Bromley I spent the whole match wandering around the back of the buildings looking for something interesting.

Like an old radio or old car that had been dumped Peter? I know that's what I'd have done
None of my family have ever showed any interest in any sports at all, ever so where my great love of athletics comes from goodness only knows. That said, I'm only interested in what I can participate in... I'm not a spectator in any area of my life...

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
When Whitby got to Wembley, about 96BC, I went to a match on their return.
Boringest couple of hours ever.
The only thing I did like was at one of our sports days there was one girl doing the high jump that seriously impressed me. No twitching around 'warming up', she just took off from a standing start and leapt up like a rocket, over the bar and down the other side. Wiped the floor with the rest of them. Wish I could remember her name.
