I thought I caught a glimpse of you one time as I was walking across the field Steve then I lost you again. I bumped into Alasdair at the burger bar and saw Phil and Tim from the BX forum but I didn't get to talk to Tim.
I was amazed at the BX turnout, it seems only a few years ago that the BX members were seen as the "Bad Boys" who didn't show any respect for "real" Citroens and yet they are fast becoming the mainstay of driveable cars. Unless you have £10-15k to get a DS or SM or some such like.
I saw my first Bijou in the flesh! What a smashing little car, the owner was a great lad from Bedfordshire I think and he let me have a good look round and under the bonnet. He also has another one in better condition painted pale yellow.
Once I remember how to post pics again I'll post some up.

I saw a Bijou (orange) in a supermarket car park a while back and honestly hadn't a clue what it was.

Re: CCC National Rally 2017
I went today for a few hours , first time ever to a Citroen Car Club event. (as well as FCS Saturday). Hardest part was deciding which car to turn up in , went in the black 3.0 V6 HDI C5 since i went to the FCS in the Activa the day before. Favourite part was seeing all the C6's as thats the only car i've not had that i really want, the owners were really friendly and chatty. The guy with the black one with reg starting PNZ let me have a sit in and play with the lounge pack which was really nice of him.
Surprised how many people i spoke to had previously had an Activa, and had a few people looking at my car which i really was not expecting. Think i will really try and go to another meet up as it so enjoyable.

Re: CCC National Rally 2017
The rallies are always packed with very friendly and helpful folks - quite a number of repairs done today by various members for others.

A few of the classics. The green SM was Mike Brewer's from Wheeler Dealers. I'm glad to say the restoration was done very sympathetically and it doesn't look like it was built last week.

Looks like I missed a really good show
Delighted though that it was a good one and well enjoyed by all...
Intrigued by Ben's Hyundai... What was that all about?

Re: CCC National Rally 2017
It was a good rally, nice friendly people, great cars/vans and a good site.
I believe they're moving next year but I don't know why.
I can't remember seeing so many H vans at a National for years, I think there was seven with the ones tucked behind the club house.
I also can't remember seeing a pebble-dashed alloy wheel in a long time , that'll cost a bit to put right
Shame Jim couldn't make it, also didn't see Tim Leech/Spencer.
Great weekend.
Maurice

Re: CCC National Rally 2017
If the green one was the one I think then I have spoken to the owner at length several times but can't remember his name, despite reading it on his badge yesterday whilst talking to Matthew as he was recharging lots of green balls.
A very interesting chap and the mileage that C5 does is unbelievable.
My photo's are derisory, get worse and fewer each year.
This is Ben's Hyundai Evolution. Only a handful imported:
No interior shots due to reflections and forgot the camera on the drive out. It was a very impressive machine, easily on a par with the C6 (except trainman's) which is unique.
Very quiet and comfortable with every imaginable gadget fitted, scarily quick and poised and the self-parking system was both brilliant an hilarious at the same time.

Very, very different Jim.
I readily admit to being biased beforehand but it is a truly impressive and luxurious car.
Shame there are no chevrons on it.

Re: CCC National Rally 2017
Weird (1) post I submitted when I got home last night disappeared into the ether (like so many before it). Becoming increasingly disillusioned about forum generally - don't now whether the novelty's wearing off, or my patience is wearing thin.
(2) clearly Mike Brewer is the prize klutz I've always suspected: not only does he have an SM engine rebuilt by an American car specialist - but attaches a brass plate boasting about it!

Back from the rally now, just about a thousand miles covered and well worth it to meet many like minded folk and see some lovely cars too. I hope that they keep the venue, it is really excellent.
My Xantia never missed a beat and is just brilliant for a long trip.
