Am I on the right lines if I can picture the front end being bashed by a frustrated Basil Fawlty?

Looks about right to me certainly one in that range, could be a Vanden Plas 1300 Princess I suppose.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Thanks for the attempts Matt and Gibbo, definitely on the case but the model/make is very specific.NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑11 Dec 2023, 18:10 The keen follower of FCF recent posts may be able to get this one right away...
What is the make/model of this car (edited out of the pic)
Not intended to be too difficult

Ah, well I'm going to move away from (less posh?) Morris and, given I can see pop out rear side windows and (possibly synthetic) leather seat top,

Mick got the answer right in his spolier Matt but I'll guide you to it if you want to play on. I came across it from reading a post on the FCF, at least one member mentioned they had one at one time.
Have a look at the rear lights looks like a colour is missing...

I think we are pretty much done on it yes that's it Matt. Here's a crop of different colours from this website ( plenty of info on it there!)

My very first car (in the US) was a '69 Austin America automatic (you perhaps know them better as an MG 1300), which were fairly popular in the US at that time. This car had a curious arrangement where the engine oil and transmission were run from an 8 quart common sump. I was a stupid teenager and didn't get the cassette oil filter seated properly once and when I started it I had about 4 quarts of fresh oil running down the driveway. Never made that mistake again.

Can't imagine many people will have seen an indicator like this. Quite unusual maybe makes it easier to get.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
The only car I can think of with that type of wing mirror and side mounted indicators with a flattish bonnet would be the Austin Maxi?
However the bulge in the wing doesn't fit but I'll go for a more general Austin/Morris?

Re: Whatsthisthen?
There's one parked beside my car when I took the crash pictures.
I thought the mirror looked familiar but from the angle I took it it is impossible to discern whether it is or not.
