Hi and welcome to the Forum.
The option to enable the CD changer option needs Diagbox to complete and this is not something a normal garage will be able to do unless A) they have a Lexia / Diagbox hardware and software, and B) they know what they are doing. Lastly, the main dealer may also not understand the necessary steps as this is something they are nor generally trained on, so you would need somebody that knows what they are doing specifically relating to manual telecoding of Head Unit options.
So you need to locate a member with a Diagnostic interface that lives near you AND who understands how to do this. Have a look here on the list of members that have the kit and who have offered their services:
https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 19&t=56452
There is a map at the bottom of the list that shows where these members are located. Just send them a private message or an email (by clicking on their avatar mail and PM contact option icons).
As you may not be aware the RD4 system does not support native bluetooth. As you have found, there are aftermarket solutions than can provide some limited functionality. The ycarlink system has a bluetooth module that will require wiring in with separate microphone for phone calling - but be aware that music capabilities are not brilliant - as the unit can only mimic what a CD changer would be able to do.
Here is a link to the Bluetooth module for the Yatour unit.

And the main unit:

Both these are available from UK suppliers - but at least you have the information to search on.
If you want confirmation of what your car does or does not have (including DPF or not) then PM or post up your VIN and I'll be able to send you a printout of the spec. as it left the factory.

Thanks @GiveMeABreak
That probably explains why the dealership was clueless.
I will check the map and hopefully someone will be able to help me out
Thanks for the yatour recommendation as I wasnt quite sure which one to consider. I have PMed you my VIN.

No problems - I will shortly email you the specs - and as I suspected - you DO actually have a Diesel Particulate Filter on this vehicle - anyway everything you need to know will be on the report.

Really that's a surprise as even the dealer didn't know about the DPF. Anything to look out for in terms of taking care of it other than frequent motorway runs?
Thanks for sending me the info that was very helpful.

Re: C5 RD4 upgrade options bewilderment
I wonder about RD4 upgrade options for our 308. The build sheet is at: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=53637#p466084 .
Fitting anything with a larger screen is not practical, as the screen aperture is part of the large dashboard moulding.
I note that this car has "Asian" radio bands. I am not sure how these differ from European.

Re: C5 RD4 upgrade options bewilderment
I'm guessing that as you have the RD4, you have the small monochrome screen built into the dash - as opposed to the retractable colour screen that folds up from the top of the dash?
The colour screens are used for the WIPNAV, WIPNAV PLUS, WIPCOM or WIPCOM 3D
In Citroen terms (MyWay or RNEG, eMyWay or RT6, RT4/5 'Navidrive' or NG4 or Navidrive 3D)
As I'm not particularly familiar with the Peugeot fitments - the only issues I can see are the retractable screens which will be needed for all the above units - plus possible additional wiring for the microphone (unless pre-wired), The correct Hi-Res screen also needs to be used for some units like the WIPNAV Plus and WIPNAV 3D.
Aftermarket options are varied - but if you want to keep the original Head Unit in the car for access to car options, then consider the Yatour / Ycarlink kit to extend audio capabilities - or with the Bluetooth kit, hands free phone.

As for the DPF - they are VERY robust and have high tolerances - so try and avoid too many short runs where the car fails to reach operating temperature - that will prevent regeneration of the particle filter - and ultimately can lead to problems if it cannot burn the soot off.
Use good quality fuels to keep the injection system working well (I fill up with Gulf Super Diesel - every 2-3 tank fulls) - which saves using an engine cleaner additive) and the same applies for engine oil - use a good quality recommended oil here:
https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/wiki/index ... arbox_Oils
Regular servicing and make sure you check the additive level (A Citroen Dealer will know to check this at the appropriate mileage). But generally, they are relatively trouble free and provide a long service life.

I am trying to send messages to a couple of members who are near me but my messages are sitting in the outbox for some reason.
