Tis a long way, 430 mile trip.

I think I saw in the local paper that at the last air-show they were full to capacity, and even those with pre-booked tickets were denied entry after 12:30

. So better pre-book, and get there early

The last display was the special Battle of Britain display and it promised decent weather too, so I'm not surprised it was popular; the autumn air show is always a little more relaxed. If we pre-book we'll be committed to turn up even if its raining and cloudy. Hang on... is that a good thing?

In the past I have turned up at about 7:40 am and got in OK - and found a good place to park up too. (My recommendation is the first to arrive head for the tank on the mound outside the Land Warfare Museum; there're some trees (or at least there were) there so park amongst them; careful consideration of spacing should allow slightly later arrivees to slip in (against the orders of the cadets maybe!) next to these pioneers (I'll be there in my green XM).

Anyone else going should PM their mobile numbers to me and we can do a sort of round robin.

In the past, when meeting up with a group (admittedly when we didn't all have mobiles) we tied bright orange ribbon to the aerials!

I intend to be parked up by 8 am. Although most will not want to be there that early, I thought I'd post a map of where I will be parking if I can. In my experience the cadets who direct the parking view the area near the Land Warfare Museum static tank and trees as a little ambiguous and I have in the past been able to park there even though that 'row' has been ostensibly full.

If you need to, spin a yarn about meeting up with an elderly relative etc... near there, even though they might want you to go elsewhere. It worked for me in the past!

If I get there early enough I might be able to park in such a way as to allow a couple more Citroens to squeeze in amongst the trees.

Anyway, it's not for me to arrange; but FYI, this is what I'm talking about.
