leaking sphere seal
HI, My Xantia 1.9 Td, has a slight leak coming from the seal on one of the spheres. The seal is located at the front , right by the radiator. my question is ; is it worth removing the sphere, cleaning the seal or replace with new ? cheers Terry.

Re: leaking sphere seal
The seals should ALWAYS be replaced when fitting new spheres - so should always be replaced if removing the sphere as the seal will likely be deformed and may not 'mate' properly.

Re: leaking sphere seal
Part no. is 5272 15 (square seal).
Have seen a few unbranded spheres fitted with round-section O-rings, which will not be self-sealing.

Re: leaking sphere seal
It sounds like your leak is at the main accumulator, attached to the pressure regulator. Be aware that the pressure regulator itself can leak, usually from the O-ring at the other end of the body, so clean it up and check for the actual location of the leak before doing anything else.
