Xsara Picasso 2003 - Climate control backlight bulbs

Post by Michel »

Hi All,

could some kind person please tell me what sort of bulbs I need to replace the ones in the climate control panel on an 03 Xsara Picasso Desire - it's the fully electronic climate, with the green backlight display. Bulbs all gone. If I shine a torch in there, I can see the numbers, but it would be nice to have it working, despite the fact I'll have to totally dismantle the surround, remove the radio etc etc..

thanks
Mike

I did a Xsara Picasso LCD dash bulb replacement job - about half were out, they may be the same for the climate panel - I'll check back shortly.

They're 611256 Mike. £5.38 from Citroen (which is the bulb holder and probably one bulb)!

However, if you look here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/CITROEN-XSARA- ... 3317558795

These are for a pack of 10, plus look in the full description - he gives you the step by step guide, a video and a tool plus 10 bulbs for £5.70 - bargain!

And I can confirm the same bulbs are used in the instrument panel display holders too - so if things are looking a bit dim you'll have some spares for that job too.

I forgot to mention Mike - don't forget that there's a mechanic's handbook for the 2003 Picasso model here that I uploaded this week, if you don't already have it.:

Though I never can tell how long you'll have this one for knowing your parchant for changing your cars rather rapidly. :-D

The cheek!

Actually, this car belongs to my friend Peter who lives near me. He has some "issues", which led to it standing from November last year, until the end of May this year outside his house, mostly full of rubbish, growing mould inside (seriously) and generally disentegrating. I offered, probably against my better judgement to recomission it for him and get it back on the road.

I had a man come to steam clean the interior - it was so bad, he wore breathing mask! It came up very well indeed.
It had the usual 2.0HDi starter motor issue - Hellrazor James helped me fit a replacement
I serviced it properly
I had a man come and clean the AC system, put a couple of new seals in it and regas it.
I rescued the flat spare, which was new and had a big nail in it. Got that repaired.
Had a new windscreen fitted
New wiper blades
Given it another oil and filter change
Put a new battery in it last week
It's got MOT coming up in a couple of weeks, I'll be replacing the front tyres (or getting a set of decent alloys with tyres, if one appears reasonably priced)

It actually drives really nicely for an old bus, and is solid as a rock. It just needs those bulbs sorting, and a new key or two.

They are pretty good as it happens, my sister has an 06 Exclusive with the panaoramic sunroofs and I like them a lot. Quirky and out of the mould.

I'm sure you'll do a cracking job on it Mike. :-D
