Hi
I have had my car from 2011 , a Citroen C5 2.0l hdi saloon mk 1 it's done just over 90,000 miles. The car is ok it's never missed a beat really ,apart from my mistake blocking the injectors , other than that changed stuff due to age. The car needs a new clutch now , the clutch is up at the top of the peddle but not slipping yet.
So I am thinking of changing the car , I fancy a C5 2.0l hdi estate ,but I am finding if difficult to find one with low mileage. Can anyone tell me please .
1 is the engine on the newer model the same as mine ?
2 I tow a caravan with my car with the self leveling this is no problem ,but will I need to fit stronger springs or assisters to the estate car . Anyone on the forum tow a caravan with the C5 estate.
Anything I should look out for on the newer model , looking for one about 2010/2012 , anyone recommend the best model .
Thanks in advance .

Re: Car change
A 2010 C5 will be an X7 as I'm sure you know. I'm not sure when the switch-over date was but you could be getting a DW10BTED4 or a DW10CTED engine in the 2.0L form. Both engines are 16v units with 138 or 163 HP respectively.
I'm not exactly sure but a hydraulic X7 should behave the same as a mk1.

Re: Car change
If you’re talking about a switch to a MKII (pre 2008) then the engines also changed. On the MKII you could have a 1.6 HDi or the 2.0 HDi 138. So depends what you are after - a MK II or a MK III (X7).

Re: Car change
Steering rack leaks on the X7 (MkIII). And it seems that even Citroen replacements have the same design flaw.
The 160bhp HDi is a great car to drive. Shame ours spent so much time not being driven.
