Classic car meet Sunday 19 July

At Apley Farm Shop, Sutton Maddock:

Should be a GSA, GS, and a '67 2cv there.

Well, the weather forecast was a bit dismal, but the early rain cleared by 09:30 and the rest of the day was glorious Sunshine and puffy white clouds.

The three Citroens previously mentioned attended, and what a variety of cars! 1930's Wolsleys, Morris's and a Singer, fifties, sixties right through to 90's. A De Lorien, Jowett Jupiter, Lotus Esprit, Fiat 500, some VW's, Rolls Royce, Willys Jeep, Series 1 Land Rovers, MG's, E Type Jags, Austins, Triumphs and a pukka Schwimmwagen with all the kit. Must have been over sixty cars there.

Really good atmosphere, and lots of chinwagging too place. Good shops, cafe, garden centre, camping area for exhibitors, no entry fee - we'll go again!

Sounded like a great day out. Something I've not managed in a long time as I'm either working weekends, or the rare I occasions I'm not, the weather is crap. :(

It was. I was in half a mind to go expecting a low turnout, but pleasantly surprised. Immaculate Rile Elf there, along with a equally immaculate two tone Riley 1.5. A superb VW camper, spoilt by dropped chassis and wide chrome wheels (why do people do that?). Lots of vintage(?) pic-nic sets too.
