Door closed/open sensor on S2 Xantia?

I am troubleshooting some central locking issues, can someone please tell me where I find the sensor which detects whether the driver's door is open/closed? Year 2000 xantia hatch.

There isn't a sensor as such, the status of each door lock is known to the body computer and can be viewed on a Lexia, there is no push switch on the doors. What is the nature of the problem you're having?

When I try to lock the car using remote, all doors except drivers lock, then it reopens them and beeps once. Button on drivers door doesn't move when doing this. Car locks on from drivers door using key. I now have the trim off the door to examine the insides. As far as I can tell, the mechanism which should lock the door only does so when turned with te key. It doesn't even twitch when the remote is tried.

Remove and clean the block connector on the lock spraying with electric contact cleaner or maybe WD40 if you don't have any. Also check the loom where it enters the door for cracking/broken wires.

I have checked the loom as it enters the door, all appears intact there. I couldn't work out how to get the connector separated from the lock, is there a catch in there somewhere (was working by touch, couldnt really feel anything)?

IIRC there's a wire clip around the block or it may be a red slider which you need to lever away from the lock.

I just remembered her indoors has a a mirror on a stick (meant for checking teeth) which will come in handy when I attempt the job one dry evening this week.
At least I could now enter time trials for door trim removal - three minutes start to finish!

The sensor resides inside the door lock block. I had the same problem , I aligned the door lock and the lock striker and this fixed the problem. The alignments is done by releasing the two screws that attaché the lock striker to the cars body and relocates it till it is in the center of the door lock.

No need to remove the door trim, before releasing the screws mark its position with a pencil. You can slightly move it in, out, up and down. As I understand it the lock striker sets the position of this U shape part of the door lock. This U shape part in conjunction with the door lock mechanism determines if the sensor is on or off. You can use a flashlight and live the door crack open and see if they aligned.
