I-Spy Classic Cars/Bikes-What have you spotted?

Back to the 20's or 30's for todays spot within 5 minutes of each other, a pair of open-top green Bentleys in Northumberland...must be something on.

They are easy id's because there are so few of them, and any that do exist and are active, photographed regularly, and highly likely to be in the Owner's Club, or a Vintage Sports Car Club, or take part in vintage rallies.

So despite not having my camera to hand, here's the very vehicle I saw today. Bentley 1924 3-Litre.



Now the other one I have forgotten the reg for...but it looked pretty much the same!

Don't put you box brownies away now that the nights are drawing in, and windscreen-scraping is not far away, Autumn and Winter offer some fantastic photo opportunities as you are out and about even if "the Classic car" may be thinner on the ground. I mean you may spot a shot like this as you drive round the corner.....plonk your own vehicle in front of it and snap away

I love the colours of autumn and will see what I can do

and windscreen-scraping is not far away

One of the joys of commuting by bike.. No windscreen to scrape and no windows to steam up although under some circumstances my riding glasses do!

One thing I have to do with my glasses is swap the lenses from the dark polarised summer ones to the yellow autumn/winter ones.. Those lenses enhance low light and bathes the world in a warm yellow glow - a bit like autumn!

Well to capture an image like this, you would probably have to invest in a drone/camera combo, and grab a quick flight out to Japan...........

...I think the image best goes on Spectacular Roads though...so thats where I have put it!

Today's autumn season classic spot, a nice little combination of the same era...late 1950's.

No original photography but it was definitely one of these...A Willerby Vogue, this example being 1957. Very nice back lights!

Close your eyes Sticky......came across this picture today by pure chance...it's of a coupe of residents of Somerset from the "Bakelite Museum" at Williton....and what are the chances of that happening?...one of them is the extra large bakelite storm trooper helmet like the one I spotted the other day Not as nice rear lights though.

Now there are classics that are nice to look at, but this has the sound and smell as well, and and a genuine 50 pointer for an unusual spot.

It is an Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili Romeo 6C 1750 GS from the 1930's.

The Red Headlight covers (removed at night) served several purposes and were used by most Alfa Romeos competing in the pre-war Mille Miglia Races. Being an open road race, the covers protected the headlights from flying rocks, allowed the cheering crowds to easily identify an Alfa as it approached and could be used to distract non-Alfa competitors turning on those big 12V Bosch lights and tailgating the opposing car.
