I bought an engine undertray over the Christmas holiday, but didn't get around to fitting it as I didn't get enough clips at the same time. A bit silly really, I looked up all the info I could find on the C4 undertray & thought it was secured by 10 of those clip/bolt things. I ordered a set from the same place I got the tray. It was described as 10 pc. This actually meant 5 clips & 5 bolts! I ordered some more & fitted it today.

I bought the car without one fitted, but decided to fit it after following this thread
http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=47038" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here several people explain the benefits, such as better fuel consuption & aerodynamics. I already know the downside from changing the oil on my Volvo V70 which had one fitted. I will be interested to see if I notice any difference. I fitted a winter shield this winter & have noticed no difference in warm up time, but maybe the undertary will change that. The most convincing argument in it's favour is that Citroen would not have gone to the trouble of paying to design & fit it if it didn't make a difference. We'll see.........

and i thought they only fitted under trays to catch any leaking oils/fluids :o :roll: :wink: , EU ruling and all that, as some countries it is an offense to drip anything from your car onto the ground

I didn't think of that, being a Citroen it doesn't leak anything. (touches wood!)

They have the longest undertray I've seen on any car! My C4s undertray is 'secured' by 10 of the clip/nail things, no bolts. Surprised me but its still on :roll:

I've just found the (almost) twin of the Fakemobile on ebay. Same colour, full leather, pan roof, 141000 miles all the same. This has sat nav as well which the genuine Fakemobile doesn't. I should buy this as well, clone the plate & run 2 for the price of one!!!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-CITROEN- ... 3a8dbef0e5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Undertrays are the devil's invention. Berlingo has been making a weird whirr - whirr sound this week. Turns out it was the undertray rubbing on, I presume, a driveshaft. 3 of the 4 stupid captive fasteners have gone walkies and one of the side plastic twisty things had failed. Undertray in shed. Problem solved.

When I had the Volvo V70, the undertray was zip tied on, just snip off & re tie after service. It worked well!

Good stuff :-D

And good to know the C4 seems to be fine at high'ish mileages too. Should be good for 200K :wink:

My daughter knitted a gear lever cover for the cold mornings (the VTS has an aluminium gear lever which can be almost too cold to touch)

A cracking idea Peter - excellent! :-D

Love the panoramic roof - that really would be the icing on the cake if the THP had one - such a nice feature. 8-)
