I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Rummaging through the pile of CDs/DVDs on my shelf I found a three disk set of Peugeot TIS / EPC Service box SB18, thought I'd see if they're still of any use.

No contacts now Marc. When I had the Vel Satis I had the cd disc with every part no and drawings plus tech workshop manual. I just walked in with part no and he had the same disc as I had. You would need a disc for a car with DPO box...

So my 508 hsas been sitting a couple days and when I started it today, i could hardly get it to rev from idle. It seemed to rev ok above idle, if I kept the turbo lit. I have a soundbite but don't see any way to add it here.

Hi, I've been given the job of rebuilding the cylinder head on this car. The problem I have is it came as box of bits. I've ground new valves in and am ready to fit the camshafts. With the numbers I have on the shafts I can't identify which is inlet and which is exhaust.

When I was looking around with the Diagbox I checked the FAP and Eolys - both (relying on memory) have about 50k left. I filled the Adblue before leaving the UK. The service interval is set at 20km and arduous service wasn't ticked. No SERVICE lamp illuminated.

Just had a Hunter 4-wheel alignment check after some brand new tyres and here are the results:

I'm no expert, but I believe them when they say the front needs adjustment. They've quoted me £50 for that. The rear apparently also needs a minor adjustment, but they said that the bolt looks so frail that they won't risk it without replacing it...

I recently bough a Peugeot Partner 1.6 hdi 2008.

It's terribly sluggish under load, on hills etc. Even a slight incline causes the speed to drop and I have to work down the gears.

There is a loud whine, almost like an air raid siren that is in sync with the engine revs. Turbo perhaps? It's also black smokey when the engine is struggling up...

Had the timing belt and crankshaft pully fitted today (thank you @GiveMeABreak)

Asked them if they would check out the knocking from the front end what I've been trying to track down for months, which they did as the NSF shocker, and theres play in the OSFtrack rod end that could be causing it too.

Theres also always been a bit of an oil leak...

Just replaced timing belt due to snapping. Issue I have is that there is no hole to lock off on the crankshaft pulley. There is a hole on the flange that sits on the pulley, but this was dislodged, so not in correct place until I can lock off the crank. I've locked off the cam shaft etc but at a loss on how to set the crankshaft. Does anyone know...

Some PSA engines do set up the timing with all the pistons on the level particularly XU petrol engines but unsure about this engine.
The welding rod method is a bit risky.

Got a 2011 3008 1.6HDi SR (112)

110k on the clock

Theres a load tapping coming from the engine which I think is the injectors. It's progressively getting worse, 15k ago the noise wasn't there at all.

A few garages have looked at it and said don't worry about it, the noise is normal, but I'm thinking, if it is normal then why wasn't it doing it...

I had mine cleaned, tested and one refurbished at a place near Chester Le Street some years ago for around £100. Big improvement.
A different place in IIRC Blyth did the ones in my previous C5 that was leaping all over (engine, that is).
Both done through different mechanics with excellent results.

Hi guys, my mums 208 1.0 is not blowing cold air through the air conditioning feature. The blower speeds work fine, hot and 'ambient' cold but no ice cold like before.

I was going to check the fuse, F29 but accessing it is very difficult and impossible through the hatch. What do I need to screw off to get in here and is it an involved job?

There are quite a few places that do air conditioning services or simple top ups. It depends on what you want.

A full service will vacuum everything out, disinfect the system and the replace with the correct oil and gas quantities. This is a bit more time consuming of course - but they have a machine that automates the process. A top up will just...

Well I had to use my RAC card for the first time ever last weekend.
The alternator drive belt tensioner had failed and the belt chewed up.
Have ordered like for like Gates tensioner via ebay but unless I go to Peugeot I'm struggling to find the definitive correct belt and idler pulley.
Weirdly, even the dealer couldn't tell me what tensioner it...

I managed to go online and cross referenced using the Gates numbers. Got a like for like Gates tensioner including post for £33 which is a fraction of dealer price.
This turned out to be the left tensioner. The right tensioner was OK but the pulley wheel
had been damaged by the belt getting jammed and melting! The pulley...

I have found the issue it was a fan motor, it won't turn over when I connect the battery but if I spin free the fan with my hand, it go round but judder then it lose the speed and it stops. Now is fixed after purchase a used fan motor.

Sounds like an emission issue.

First of all - many faults and issues relating to the engine management will trigger the back up mode to prevent damage. That is why your cruise control and other functions will be disabled whilst this fault is in in effect. That will almost certainly be the same for your ESP / ASR system as some of these functions...

Hi all, I have a 30081.6 hdi 2010 automatic, would like to ask if anyone have trouble in low temperature a feel like gear slipping or judder usually in the morning when you start driving !! But once the car is warm, it doesn't do this, please help with advice !!

207 clutch change error.

I just changed the clutch on my daughters 207 and when we started it we got a horrible metal on metal noise. 3 hours later it is back off again to examine why. The trust bearing is in pieces and the guide tube is chewed up on the end.

I am 99% certain that DIY dad screwed up and wasted his fathers day and an £85 Sachs clutch by putting it...

2nd time was a charm and one happy young lady back on the road.

One disconnected drain off pipe (I think) though that I can't find a home for. 2 pipes go down the back of the engine and clip to the side of the bracket that holds the gear selector cables. One is the vacuum pipe to the reservoir and that is fine and the other appears to be a drain...
