Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I've just had a look at the wiring diagrams too and yes, you have a cross-range BSI, and there is no separate additive ECU. So this is why it's confusing with the engine data that says otherwise as you can see from the previous info in my last post. Unfortunately this can be where they update one system and not the other - or don't make it clear....

I got a pair of front fog lights and a stalk for my phase 1 406, a bit nicer than looking at blanking panels

It's not unheard of here. Some fuel rail pressure sensors are supplied separately by Peugeot, and some are only sold by them as part of the complete rail - as they are assembled at factory and can be sensitive to being removed / replaced.

Cam-cover gasket sealant?

Is it advisable to put some sealer between the cam-housing and cam-cover gasket, perhaps Fel-pro Blue, Wellseal or similar?

Have just removed the rear cam-cover on my TU5JP4 engine as suspect slight oil leak from that gasket. Rubber seems a bit hard but maybe they are like that from new, nothing to compare it against.

I wouldn't 'add' sealant, the gaskets are good enough. The TU5 cam housing to cover surfaces are flat and will form a satisfactory seal. Adding sealant doesn't make it seal any better or longer.

Could be the shock absorber. We had knocking on a C4 which was the result of internal wear allowing the chrome shaft to move slightly sideways. It was hard to detect on the car but once removed the sideways play was obvious and produced the metallic knock.

I've recently purchased a 3008 hybrid - very happy with it except I soon realised that there was no FM/AM signal. Zero, not even the odd station with poor quality.
Everything else on the radio works, so can play CDs, sat nav works etc..

I've had a look at fuse F37 for the hi-fi amplifier and weirdly it had a 3a fuse in place and looked...

Hi Guys, I'm a neewby here. I have a 2006 407 (from new). The CD player was chewing CDs and not spitting them out. I've got a replacement item from evil bay, and although it works perfectly, it emits a continuous beep. I take it that this is a security measure. Ok, so you have the older RD4 system and as far as I'm aware there was no RD45 for these vehicles as they're the old shape and design, so forget everything I said about the RD45. Just focus on replacing like for like and getting it VIN-coded to the vehicle.

2014 will probably be the e-HDI - worst issue on these is the injectors failing. Otherwise, they are pretty robust. Needs a belt change it if hasn't been done!

I imagine the 5008 will be similar to the Grand Picasso, in which case, boot space with the rear most seats up is best described as 'limited'....!

Purchased a 1.6hdi some time ago and have been trying to pinpoint the cause of a p0402 which will not allow the regeneration of the dpf. Changed some parts on it like the turbo oil feel pipe, had the turbo checked and it seems to be spinning freely. Im starting to think it might be. I ordered a Hella 009400521 boost pressure sensor and just waiting to make my way back overseas in july and see if it resolves the issue. So to my shame I've been sold a complete lemon by a private seller.
I went to buy a 207cc 1.6Hdi and it all looked good.
Scanned clear of current codes, except a P1351. Test drove perfectly for 20-30 minutes.

I've had my 2012 207 1.6 HDI 92 from 2013 when it had done 12k .. its now on 85k and regularly serviced by myself as a mechanical fitter.

For some time it has had a nasty smoking habit .. mostly black with a little blue on start up. It gradually got worse and ended up with DPF at risk of clogging message coming...

I have a 1996 406 with the 2.1 engine, it had the lucas epic pump but had a few issues with idle, random unintended acceleration, random spluttering and fuel leaks. So i have removed that setup and fitted a bosch from a 405 1.9 TD that i removed back in 2017.

508sw front coil spring broken, all i know is colour code which is 2 white and 1 blue, would like to know part number for late 2017 facelift model, any help would be great because all i got are the dealerships saying they can quote me for some but wont give out the part number, thanks to all that may be able to help me out.

Hi my Peugeot 308cc 1.6 vti 5fs engine has gave up so planning to replace engine . The price of a 5fs is to much for me but I've come across a 5fw with low miles . Would it be possible to fit the 5fw in my 308. Thanks

I have a 2008 Peugeot Boxer, Puma 2.2hdi engine, Denso injection.
The engine was replaced (complete, including injectors) however the new injectors were not recoded into the van's ECU programming.

The original codes that are programmed are 16 characters long, however current injectors only have an 8 character code that the diagnostic program...

My scan tool says I need to apply to bar of pressure when bleeding abs. I only have a traditional one man bleeder (bottle and tube). Will this still work?

I don't think it will, if they specify a pressure bleeding then it must need it. You can get either Pressure or Vacuum...

Power steering pump problem

The power steering pump stopped working while i was driving and when i turned of the engine and then turned it on again the problem solved. But the problem keeps recurring. I need to know why?

I did these actions:
I checked the fuse box
reconnected the earth wire.
I used a tie rap to fix the plug of the pump.

I still have the same problem

I'm desperate with my Boxer 2.2 hdi, she does not start with a fault in communication with the Injection ECU. The immobilizer stays On, she cranks but no start.

I checked the C Can lines L & H, and the resistance between both is 120ohm.

Can L & H are showing no resistance to battery 12v, and if I measure the Can line to battery...

Unfortunately one of my locking wheel nuts snapped a year ago so i got a new set from Peugeot last year. Annoyingly, possibly the second time i used the key on one of the wheels, another locking nut broke on me. So my 2011 1.6 hdi Peugeot 3008 had a diesel smell coming into car when driving. On inspection seen a large build up of carbon around the injectors so figured there could be one leaking, also noticed a leak from the egr where it bolts onto to back of the cylinder head. Any ideas anyone?
I put Diagbox on my car, 2006 Peugeot 307SW, 2.0HDi 138, as I needed to programme a new key. In doing a faults test it tells me there is no communication with the additive ECU. The car isn't actually showing any faults at present.
The additive is the bag type and I have changed the bag.
Any clues as to how to start diagnosing...
