I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

i had a pair of Vred's fitted on the 309gti back in the late 90's, Masses of tread on them, friends commented on how you could go Hiking in them! :-D lasted about the same as any tyres last when your 20 in a Gti! ;-)

now i know its very much not allowed due to the duty on heating oil not being the same etc. but Hypothetically (sp??) speaking, would the ol' trusty Xantia td engine (1.9 bosch) run okay on it??

Just things that would of been (potentially) good cars:

1. 205 1.5D , powerful enough for this and may of increased economy even more, although the 1.8D was quite frugal anyway and powerful anyway.

2. 306TD auto, why why why did not they not make one ? :( , I am aware there was a ZX1.9D auto for a while but no matching 306 model.

Hi, my berlingo is booked in for a MOT at 11.30 and I knew the airbag light was on (and has been for 8 years or so), so I had a look in the Haynes book but all it said was to take the car in to a Citroen dealer. A quick search of the Citroen section pointed me straight at the rather pathetic underseat wiring connectors and I had it fixed 10...

Late last year I fitted two new front tyres on the Xantia. Deliberately, I ran them without balancing. The alignment coloured dots were followed.

Tracking was fair; not perfect but not massively wrong.

The results are in - one has completely expired after ten months, the other is well-worn. Vibration was...

Compared to what it can be, yes. Still more pleasant than a small tipper, or a Volvo XC70 (this one surprised me with its rubbish ride).

For much of the around-town stuff, speeds are so slow you don't really notice the vibration - it kicked in over 60MPH.

In the case of that which was least communicative, a visual inspection of the BSI revealed nothing unusual. Nil signs of previous entry, damage, overheating. This added to my puzzlement, I'm surprised the component may be so flaky as to fail without a single external indicator.

i could do with invoicing/billing software, but dont want to pay loads of dosh ( as usual :roll: #-o :-D :wink: ),

is it possible to run an Android app on my PC, and also could i use my non internet complicator at the workshop linked to my Galaxy S2, mainly so u can use the workshop complicator for the screen and keyboard

Cameo was pretty good in a way although its probably overkill for what you need. All the Pug Express Fits used (maybe still do) use it. DOS based mostly. No idea on cost I doubt its cheap.

Seriously - about TEN INCHES of foam.

(I was scrapping a CX bench, and cut it up for ease of disposal.)

Noted also, the rear seat is nearly identical in width to a Xantia unit.

Many many years ago, having passed her driving test, a female work workmate became the proud owner of one of the original Fiat 500's. Being so light it was quite easy for 2 people to lift it completely. She often returned to her car to find it parked in some very odd places!

My mot is due in January. but i have a hole on the sills near the jacking point. It will fail its mot for sure. I know theres still some time to go. But when winter kicks in. Theres no doubt it will get worst.

Ill have a phone round tomo see how much it will cost.

I need a receptacle female and male 2 pin plug for an outboard motor. Official parts are NLA.

The grommet with the hole pierced in it is about 20mm dia. I want to fix a female plug in there. It is from the charging coil of a 5hp motor to the battery in boat.

It is with great sadness to say goodbye to Citroen ownership, After searching around for a 2.0 hdi with leather i have given up. I could find a 2.2 diesel but have been put off them by various members on this forum. I tend to take advice from more knowledgable members and there are probaly some that would say they have never had a ny problems with...

Anyone know about trailers? I'm shopping around for a trailer suitable for taking my Clio backwards and forwards to the track. My old man says get one with suspension. However pondering this, most of the total weight is already suspended by the cars own suspension. This leaves only the unsprung weight of the trailer itself, which won't be huge...

PS if it is over 750kg then you could rig up an extension to the handbrake cable which runs under the car and then can be tied onto the tow hook, thus it becomes braked and fine to tow with an a frame. Then all you need is a cheap set of wheels and tyres to tow it on and a light trolley jack and swap onto your race tyres once at the track. The...

We seem now to be at a point where the price of an unrusted 406 or Xantia in Australia, is less than the price of a UK car. It's mind-boggling. Trade buying price for a Xantia without registration (eg, tax) is $200 to $400.

Yet people want thousands still, for an equivalent age Corolla or Honda.

I was considering buying a set of bearing removal tools as I've had much fun an games in the past managing without one. Looking online I see two different designs:

A large vice and an old socket set have usually worked for me. For the odd thing that has defeated me and need to be pressed I've just taken the assembly in question to my tamed garage. Bushes etc have usually been about a fiver a pop. Saves a lot of work, and the expense and storage of equipment I wouldn't otherwise use regularly.

Probably worth a punt, although they're somewhat limited really. It'll help point you in the right direction certainly.
They don't spell it out for you like some of the more powerful tools so diagnostics can be a bit of a pain.

I'm about to mash-up a couple of racks; have one with a cracked ear and one with a rubbish slide/ram but good housing.

Has anyone replaced the small nose support bearing pressed into the rack? It's got an INA branding on it but no part number I can see.
