Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I read an article that claimed the makers changed or added a WD40 ingredient in the 90's which is acidic. I must admit I've never been overly impressed with using it as a lubricant though it makes a good plastic polish and smells ok. :)

A piece of worthless trivia, if I haven't already mentioned it. WD stands for Water Dispersant and the number...

Just got the AA renewal quote for the DS5 2.0 l auto.
£346, or £321 without the AA accident cover/Assistance??? No legal cover or anything.

Last years C5 was over £100 cheaper and both cars are in the same insurance band.
So far, I have a quote of £287 for a similar policy.
My AA roadside cover is also due. £49 last year for me in any car,...

What are your sounds when you are in the car (apart from dash squeaks, rattles & for me the K&N)?

It was a Seat Leon which I had recently bought and it was in absolutely immaculate condition. I was going to repeat it myself, but because the car was so good it would have ruined it getting...

Below £10,000 if you want to buy a used electric vehicle the choice is a 24kWh Nissan Leaf, or a 22kWh Renault Zoe...................you may find a Peugeot Ion/Citroen C-Zero, Mitsubishi i-miev but more of a rarity.

A Glue Question

Can anyone recommend a glue that they've experience with that works well on high glass fibre content plastic ? There ws always a good one to use 'back in the day' that was good at sticking Xantia door mirrors back on - but the name escapes me :(
I've got a couple of non-structural 5-10mm dia rods that I need to stick back together.

to the day, postman brought a penalty notice for £100 for overstaying in the Home Bargains car park in Monmouth.
Contacted Home Bargains, they said Don't talk to us take it up with the parking company.
As I was only doing a good deed by taking a disabled pensioner to their shop I reckon the have lost a regular customer, I won't be doing it again.

in the close today, builder neighbour working on his own house fell off the scaffold onto his mate and the scaffold collapsed on both of them, mate unhurt builder a big lump on his head and concussed, ambulance here for an hour, both declined hospital treatment.

The man in my post did actually in the end go in the ambulance and x-rays at the hospital found he'd broken a bone in his back and likely to be five months of healing needed. :(

I've had some bad experiences with automatic stop-start features, and it's just through pure luck that I've not been in an accident. However it seems to have proliferated like a virus.
