Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Auto Locksmith recommendations?

Hope I'm posting in the most appropriate section.

I'm looking for an Auto locksmith that's proficient on the mechanical side of the locks. Parents have a keyless entry Micra, that won't accept the emergency blade key, that needs fixing. I've removed the ignition lock so can send it anywhere, just need to find someone with the skills to fix it.

My car is in the garage at the moment. It wouldn't start and had fuel pump error codes - so they replaced the fuel pump. Still no joy, and now ECU error. So he's suggested sending the ECU off for repair, but he's doubtful the guy he uses will be able to do it, as he's not done this particular ECU before. (If he can't, then no charge, only...

I had a response and the place advised was turkey. I find that a bit ironic. Surley there must be a UK supplier of a seal kit or certainly done where closer to UK..

Just thought I'd give Paul at Cool-Carz a shout after a cracking job sorting the Air Conditioning out on our C3.

They are a mobile service based in West Wales and in Bedford.

We had Paul come out to do a pressure test with nitrogen, which checked out ok, so then a full vacuum out, disinfect and re-gas. All for £70! Can't beat that for a mobile...

I have to recommend Romsey MOT and Tyre super centre who are at;

I took a work van there for 2 tyres and tracking which was done without a hitch.
I then had a puncture repaired on my Xantia and they balanced the centre...

And then again when I needed to pay for the shipping but the filter on my internet router chose to give up the ghost..

On 21 August I ordered a replacement drive-shaft on line from someone offering an unbeatable price. + very reasonable p & p.

I also needed an oilseal but hadn’t found it - ’til after I’d placed the order. Apparently they have a flat rate p & p charge which meant the seal would’ve cost the same again so I phoned them, spoke to someone who I took...

Are all car components coated with rain soluble paint?

When I fiited a new TCA, I painted the cap of the ball joint black to match, 'cos that was bare metal. Nearly 6 months later, most of which the van's been parked there hardly a trace of paint anywhere.

Nearly had a coronary when a local firm mentioned on here wanted £388 just to refurbish trailing arms #-o

These guys fitted me a complete replacement subframe, swopped over discs, serviced calipers, changed hydraulic fluid £120 all in

Cant believe how much better car drives now it sits evenly and doesnt feel like its heading for nearest ditch...

Westroen have been going for many many years, i knew of them as my old man used their services when he had his bx's and so when it came to my xantia needing new spheres they were the only choice for me. The gent who did my car knew the in's & out's of the whole xantia suspension system & had all 3 spheres on the front end of my car changed with...

Have had both the 107 and Saab in here now for both repairs and MOTs and am happy to thoroughly recommend them. Especially after the welding on the Saab, which was quite a complicated little bit of reconstructive surgery that they only charged me £95 for...I was expecting at least a 3 in front of that. Work looks good too. CV joint on the 107 was...
