SD Card Clone (Nothing else)

Hi, I have SMEG_PLUS id - Supplier Magneti Marelli Pt# 98 073 274 80
Does this unit have a SD card or is the only way to dissemble ?
I have no map cd & don't really need one now.
I just wish to know if its possible to ONLY clone the SD card (in case it becomes unreadable). I understand it 'may' be QNX not sure ? I can do attempt to clone either Linux or with a Raspberry Pi whichever is recommended.

There's no cards in these - Memory is integrated onto the motherboard. No user serviceable parts inside. Updates are done via USB.

Marc, what about the internal SD card? The OP is obviously aware of something as he knows about the existence of the QNX OS.

He's picked that up from one of my other threads concerning the NG4 most likely where I talked about the operating system used on that system.

But there's no flash memory card to my knowledge in these units, so a non-starter really.

@Gerry_123: I personally haven't had this system and aren't aware of the specifics on these, so Paul will have to advise you as he evidently has this unit and undertaken the procedure. I can't advise as to what the OS is on these.

I have limited experience of the RT6 unit in the C5 as I haven't had it open. It was replaced under warranty (with 2.86b firmware on) and apart from updating maps and speed cameras I've done nothing else except remove DRM requirement so I don't have to put a code in whenever there are new maps.

We also have a Pug 308 in the family which has a SMEG+ unit installed. Both are made by Magneti Marelli so there are some similarities and this one I have had out to modify the SD card.

With this background is there anything there to help you? Perhaps ask again what it is you want to know and I'll see if I can assist.

Yes it can be cloned. I used a program on my Windows laptop called Minitool Partition Wizard to copy the SD card in the SMEG+ and then alter the partitioning so that there was more space for maps. From memory, there are three partitions. I was only interested in taking some space from the Jukebox (which is a FAT32 area I think) and adding it onto the area for the maps. The Minitool was able to handle all the different partitions.

As I said, I've not had the SD card out of the RT6 until but I'm informed there are three partitions there as well. As there's no Jukebox I can't explain that but two will be for the maps and the help files.

You can certainly clone the complete SD card but for a full back-up of program files and configuration you should use Mirascripts. This is loaded on to a USB/pen drive. Insert it into the car's USB socket and you can then back up to the same pen drive and keep it safe somewhere.

FYI, when updating maps and speed cameras I've only ever used a USB/pen drive, never a CD.

If 'for a full back-up of program files and configuration you should use Mirascripts' encompasses the SD clone data (allowing a retrieval in case it becomes corrupt). Then seems the best option.
From MiraScripts.pdf - After coping, five files must exist:
BUILTIS.OUT
BUILTIS.OUT.inf
CD_VER.AV
ISTALL.CMD
AV_UPGRADE.CMD
/CMD (containing all the scripts as listed below)

However after extracting

missing 'ISTALL.CMD' ? After inserting USB it states no files (Unit does see music files from the USB).

What did I miss ?

Having tried this 'as is' with both USB & CD it seems my SMEG + does not recognize the MiraScripts. Any ideas ? Thanks,

Hang on! SMEG+? I thought you had the RT6 system? Mirascripts only works with the RT6/eMyWay system.
