Hello, and wellcome, I think new problems are very rare nowdays, so what ever problem your wife's car has, someone on here would have suffered the same sometime and worked out a fix.

Thanks. Looks like you’re right. I have had an answer and after a bit more research can see you can buy the switch also with a replacement loom which I suspect is the problem

I also have a problem with a Themic unit on the window but that’s another day
