fault lights

Post by littleowl-123 »

Good afternoon, I have a 2012 c4gp. I have changed the air, oil, and fuel filters, there were no faults on before I changed the filters, the fuel took a lot of bleeding the battery went flat a few times, I managed to get it started and it runs well, But now I have esp, brake light and service on the dash board, I have checked the wiring and no faults found, I have put a new brake pedal switch on and cleaned all the contacts, the parking brake still works with the switch, any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

HI, welcome along!

What engine is in it? You will need to get it on a diag computer to see what it is upset about.

Don't know what that is referring to - you really need to get the actual fault code out of it. Did you spill diesel from the filter onto the EGR valve by any chance? You shouldn't have to crank it to destruction after fuel filter change - should use the primer to get it filled first.

Good afternoon Richard,
thank you for your reply.
I filled the fuel filter before fitting it still took a few times to start. No diesel spilt on EGR valve. My battery has been on the car for at least 7 years. I have now bought a new battery and fit it.
I can use the old one as a spare.
Is the EGR valve easy to get to I have had a look but could not see it.
Is there any way of checking the EGR valve?
many thanks Alan
