Factory Manuals

Post by Allmostfrench »

G'Day Folks,
I have a 99 Xantia V6 and a 2008 C4 1.6HDI with Flappy Paddle Gearbox.
I have paid good money for a Haynes Manual, only to find that it doesn't cover the Flappy Paddle Gearbox.
I have also paid good money to a crowd in the UK advertising manuals for these two that runs on "VirtualMachine" on PC laptops that are pretty useless to me as I use a Mac and the PC laptop that I have put them on still doesn't seem to be able to access all of the information.

Where can I buy manuals covering these cars that will work on an iPad or MacBook?
Some of the answers on the forum seem to use beautiful clear pictures that must come from the factory manuals.
Thanks in advance.

What is the virtual machine manuals you got?
The factory manuals are a program called servicebox, this one is off a virtual machine & the seller claims it works on mac. Works on windows 100% but i dont use a mac so couldnt say
This one is the factory manuals, (offline) parts diagrams & wiring diagrams.

...I believe that DocBackUp and Sedre BackUp can only be installed on Windows - for me they work on XP prof./ WIN 7 32 or 64 bit and on WIN10 64 bit.

But I can well imagine that the 32 GB USB stick - on which this is installed - works everywhere. Then you also save the not so easy installation from the DVD or the ISO.

There are workshop documents for the XANTIA directly from Citroen up to 2001 - the V6 is certainly included there.
For the C4, there are such documents up to 2007 - whether the model is already in there????
But I only know the German link:
http://public.servicebox-parts.com/dtt/ ... icule.html

Maybe there is also an English one.
Click on the model and download.

DocBackUp and SEDREBackUP are better, though.

The USB stick has a virtual box version of XP with servicebox & SEDRE pre installed. Like i say I dont use a mac but if it can run virtual box then it should work?

These are known as mechanics hand books & are a very condensed version of the workshop manuals, What's interesting though is depending on what language you choose some have a few more books that were in English, having never selected anything other than English before i have never noticed this.

...thanks for the English link
I tried ....en_GB which was incorrect it is en_US

On the German edition, newer editions come for many models - but 2007 seems to be the end of the line.
Perhaps the French editions are not available. French editions are even newer.

I've managed to download the Service box PDFs.
The chap in Italy says that he can't post to Australia - I've written to him offering to pay extra postage, it shouldn't be THAT hard!
Thanks again for the replies, much appreciated.
