Driver side door central locking woes

Post by Gee Pout »

I have a 207cc with faulty central locking on drivers side door.
The lock has been working intermittently for a while, and now the only way to lock is by using the physical key instead of a button.

Today I managed some time and decided to remove the door card. My first guess was that the wires in the rubber joint where door hinges were broken, so in order to check them I needed to remove the connectors. But I couldn't manage it. The space is to small. Then I tried accessing it from inside the car, at the driver footrest. But while removing plastic covers I only managed to break the plastic lever used to lift the hood.
And of course I cannot see the connectors from that end.

Any advice? Do I need to remove the entire door from the hinges in order to gain access?

What about trying to test the wiring at the lock itself? To see if the signal reaches the lock? Which pins would I need to connect my multi meter (connector has nine of them).

Sorry for my bad English. Any help would be appreciated.

You mean for wiring diagram? Oh, that would be excellent.

Here are my findings:

Pin 1 and 3 give 10 volts on locking/unlocking and then after a moment drop to 0.2 something.

Pin 1 and 4 give 10 volts on lock/unlock.
Pin 1 and 5 same as above.

Pin 1 and 6(6206) are dead.

On your vehicle you don't have Deadlocking (it's not allowed in some countries), so pin 6 should be dead (as the dotted line means it's an option and may not be available) as in your case.

306 saga, would deadlock us in the car and general misbehave when it rains...

However since replacing all wires between the car and door, and lubing really well the rear passenger drivers side door, touch wood, she has been behaving...

You say you cannot disconnect the door loom ?

Post a picture of that connection, and the hinges.

Door removal on 306 really simple and really handy !
