Peugeot partner esp fault

Post by Callumr22 »

Hi,
recently purchased a accident damaged Peugeot partner 1.6hdi on a 2015, the damage was front end and both airbags and pretensions were deployed, airbag lights and esp lights were illuminated on dash, I have repaired the damage and replaced all airbags and pretension and the airbag light has gone, I still have the esp light, I have plugged into Delphi diagnostics and getting fault code u1305 (steering wheel angle sensor module: communication interrupted) and U1105 (steering wheel angle sensor no signal).

I have replaced the steering angle sensor with matching part numbers from a working vehicle but still have the same fault codes and cannot recalibrate they new sensor, my power steering pump is also spinning twice as fast as it should be at 4600rpm and making a whining noise, I have tested another parter which is spinning at 2350rpm and no noise or warning lights, if I remove fuse 6 in the under bonnet box the power steering pump will spin at 2300rpm and not make a noise but I will get more warning lights on dash, I have checked all wiring to the pump and all fuses and cannot find any problems, do I have a faulty pump which is why I am getting steering angle sensor fault? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the pump may of gone bad or going bad, check all the wire looms to abs ecu and anything that has a plug to it , sometimes a broken wire to something else can cause assorts of weird things

I have checked all plugs I can find and removed any insulation on wiring to check for breaks etc and cannot find any, was just hoping someone had had this problem before, I don’t mind buying a new pump if it will fix my issue, on live date my angle sensor is not picking anything up, it’s says the wheel is turned 5774 degrees to the left with the old and new comm2000 fitted.

You will continue to get this error until the steering wheel sensor angle is calibrated properly. Either the module is incompatible (wrong part number), faulty or I suspect your diagnostic equipment may not be new enough to calibrate the specific module.

Also, did you programme the replacement Airbag ECU? That needs checking to ensure all the parameters are correct for the specific vehicle.

The module was replaced with matching part numbers I made sure before purchasing, my diagnostic is 2020 so should be new enough to recalibrate it, I don’t have a problem doing a decalibration. But when trying to calibrate just get failed. On live date the angle sensor is not moving with the new or old sensor fitted, it is just stuck at 5774 degrees to the left, I have just had the van back on diagnostic and have found the following fault codes in power steering - U1105 (steering wheel rotational speed-no signal) - U1113 (vehicle speed information - no signal)

With the engine running do you have a power supply & earth at the steering angle sensor?

...and it is possible that the steering angle cannot be calibrated with the Diagbox 9.68 VM or 9.68 MrRorry Original - both go until 4/2020.
It might be easier with 7.57/7.62 or 7.82.
Alternatively Peugeot workshop with the original diagnosis tool.
