407 fender clip fitting

Post by 407 »

Anyone have any quick tips on how to fix the bumper to the fender as per pics

Seems there is no way to remove the headlight without removing the bumper, which sort of defeats the purpose of the clip

Ive seen a Youtube where you insert a wire hook and spin the clip around but have no idea how to get the clip inside in the first place (or is that why you have to remove the whole bumper) .

Can you take the foglight out to reach it ?

Yes, you have to remove the bumper in order to remove the headlight, there are 1 or 2 bolts hidden behind it. The clip is attached to the bumper. It pokes through a hole in the wing in the vertical position and , after removing the inner wing, using a bent rod you turn it through 90 degrees to secure the wing to the bumper. This is if I've remembered correctly.

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone

Procedure for bumper removal - prior to replacing headlamps, (you may not need to complete all steps accomplish what you need).

managed to do it by only unbolting 4 bolts (eg the 1 and 2 on the driver side) and under the car

The clip clips in but I was a bit rough with the first one and it ended up in a few pieces (one of which is still missing somewhere in the engine / lights area)

Lucky I bought two of them
