I have a 2012 Berlingo with the 1.6 8valve which has covered 149,800 miles (241,079 kilometres) and it doesn't burn oil. It weeps & drips, but I haven't had to add a drop since I bought it in March this year 8-)

I would think your problem may be the rocker cover filter might be choked and causing back pressure in the crank case, letting the engine ingest oil. I have seen it in older PSA engines and have no problems in imagining it may well be the case with your car, especially if it isn't leaking out.

These parts are readily available online or at the dealer.
Where is this filter located specifically? Is it at the air intake pipes connecting to the rocker cover at the top of the engine?

I've changed the oil and checked for oil leaks and I couldn't find anything. The only thing that looked weird to me was that the intake on the turbo was pretty oily and the breather tube from the crankcase was also dripping with oil.

I took some pictures of injectors and there didn't seem to be any oil on the backside of the engine.

Here's some pictures of the breather tube and the back of the engine at the injectors.

So sorry for the extremely late reply

I have just had to order a replacement PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve for wifes C4 as she said the car is stalling (not sure it's related) and I was surprised when i lifted the bonnet and saw oil all over the throttle body and the PCV. Citroen wanted £150 for a whole rocker cover with the PCV valve. I can get it online for £35 or just the PCV valve for £20.

I await a response on here regarding whether or not I'll now have to replace the throttle body assembly or just some "O" rings or seals. However, I have an idea it'll be just a case of dig into my massive case of "O" rings to find the correct one and start getting down & dirty

Anyhoo, regarding your question. Was it the breathing system? Did you get it fixed?
Has anyone seen the plot? :?

Mechanics said that the oil consumption was normal when it had done so many miles on the oil. So I guess I'll stick to that 😅
