207SW What Fuse Values...?

Post by RussellF97 »

Hi All,

I have a 2012 Peugeot 207 SW Active 1.6 diesel 92PS (1st reg 24/09/2012) and I’m trying to get to grips with what value fuse should be where in the dashboard fusebox. None of the fuses have been changed by me, they are as they were when I bought the car in Nov 2018.

Checking between the fusebox, the handbook, and the Haynes manual, I only seem to have two fuses with the handbook values in their proper places, F1 (15A) & F9 (30A).

These are what I have: reading from left to right as you look at the fusebox (and for reasons best known to Peugeot, the fuse numbers don’t go in sequence…

Does anyone have the definitive answer of what fuse should be where..??

My main reason for asking is that I piggybacked my dashcam on F9, which the handbook states is for the 12V socket(s) which are ignition controlled. However, leaving the dashcam in place for best part of a week resulted in the battery going flat because the cam was still on. Oh well...

This can be a bit of a grey area - as these can change depending on Country - pop your VIN up so I can check vehicle specifics, but I would stick with the handbook, as unless you've had the car from new, you have no way of verifying what anyone else has done to the fuses - and as you say, may not of been aware of the out of sequence numbering... but there are are lot of these that are wrong looking at your diagram.

Hi, Many thanks for your reply. The VIN is: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Although I'm in France, it is a UK reg car, bought by its' first owner from a Peugeot dealer in Devon.

Ok, so the car was built on 9th July 2012.

Having checked the circuit diagrams,

F1 also shows 5A
F3 also shows 5A

Ah, thanks for that; much appreciated. So it appears the handbook is wrong as well then..? Does the handbook agrees with all the others?

It does look as if someone has had all (or most of) the fuses out and put then back in sequentially. That way more would seem to be in the right place.

It may be that they found an issue (in after-sales) with the fuse and therefore decided to put an uprated fuse in place, but didn't change the handbooks as the model was not sold after 2012. I can't confirm this of course, but if you do replace it and it keeps blowing, you'll have the answer. So keep a few spares handy just in case...

Thank you very much for your time on this; I shall now go out and attack my fusebox!.
