Febi to Citroen part numbers.

Post by seanrx »

Hi to all.

FebiBilstein parts, has anyone matched their codes to Citroen for to buy the correct item?

Am ordering a rad/cooling fan, but the online seller (UK) has codes, but is unsure if will fit my car.

My C5 mk2, it POSSIBLY could take the fan from a C4 and Peugeot's.

The following Citroen OE codes, they all match the Febi fan that is currently in stock with seller:
1253K2, 1253F0, 1253F8, 1253G7, 1253K7.

Seller is asking if there is a hack to use their Febi fan on my petrol EW10A RFJ engine?

So, a puzzle to fix, if possible.
Any thoughts from C5Mk2 16v users?

Staff can help you with live PSA part numbers, but this requires a min £10 Forum donation that will cover you up to 2 years for parts enquiries - details in the table below. If interested, just follow the link and pop your VIN up.

PSA parts are internal to PSA, with the exception of part numbers used internationally. Each supplier will have their own part number databases too that are unique to them - the trouble you will have is they tend to rope a lot of replacement parts under one or more OEM part numbers which are often wrong, resulting in more hassle.
A response to your question by a Forum Admin will require detailed vehicle information that requires you to have made a current contribution to the Forum.

If you go on to a Mister Auto site, you can input either PSA part numbers, or anyone else's (eg Febi), check the equivalence, and view the item. Scroll on down to see other manufacturers' and OEM equivalent numbers.

When inputting part numbers, you need to be a bit persistent, as sometimes the first few digits can throw up 'article not found', but if you carry on to enter the full part number, it will recognise it.

Helps, too, to enter your car details (do it via make/model/engine/year), as this is more precise — although this is not essential.

Ok, so none of those parts were correct.

The correct official part number is 1253N5 for the Fan and the Relay - items (1) and (3). Price form Citroen today is £597.43 inc. VAT. So I would be sure to check it is not just the relay that you need....

Yep £288 more like it.
Also, my local non Citroen garage say they can fit a fan for £200.

Will have to check if they are pricing with the £60 Febi, that won't fit!

My relays are different from image.
Round with a seperate cap to twist off.

This fan has the integrated relay which you need and specifically this fan is the 150W with integral electronic control.

So be wary. The part I have provided is the official part for your exact car - be careful of 'compatible units' that may be different specifications / fitment / control.

OK.
I will return to garage to confirm their part No's.
I have just viewed more fans on eBay UK for about £120, with correct 1253N5.

Its the relay shape, that will have to be confirmed.

Thanks for the help and info.
A great forum.

Update!
I have bought a new fan from eBay to fit.
An: NRF 47892.

Its now on the car.
At idle, with the a/c on high or low the fan does not turn.
But the blower/de-mist does work okay.

So, I need to drive the car up to temp to operate fan? I hope its just this!

The fan should operate on low speed whenever the A/C is on, so it can take the heat away from the condenser radiator.

It is governed by the A/C pressure though - see the table below:

Key:
'IN' = Fan Cuts in
'OUT' = Fan Cuts Out

-IN Slow speedIN Mid speedIN High speedOUT Slow speedOUT Mid speedOUT High speed

Thanks.
So, I do have another problem.
I should say, the old fan I did battery test.

The wires next to its motor, I peeled back to apply jump leads.
Multimeter showed 12,5 on the bare wires, but fan still not turn.
