Ok, so it obviously needs further investigation and a diagnostic with Diagbox, where it should haver a fault code stored. If you can get that post it here.

Hi. Just joined as have similar problem. 65 reg picasso 2.0hdi

Had to replace battery and now alarm goes off soon as you lock with key or door handle. If left to lock itself or via key it's fine.

I found alarm module and got a used one from eBay. Part number is 9673523380. I did the bsi reset according to instructions on here but still the same. Not sure if the used part is faulty too so may have to buy a new part from a dealer.

The alarm sounds soon as locked but before I tried the used part it would lock and alarm go off 20 second later which is strange.

The part is identical apart from one part on label that says INDDEL : G on mine and H on used part so not sure if that makes a difference? Any help appreciated before I try a local independent Citroen specialist.
Thanks

Simon.

Have you considered that it may not be the alarm ECU?

The ECU rarely fails, but the siren unit does.

The siren has a permanent live and connection to the alarm ECU, but it also has its own power supply using capacitors that get charged up. When these fail it may be detecting a power loss so triggers the alarm.

When I've had this go on previous vehicles it was always the siren that was the issue.

To be honest I just read this thread and that someone had changed a few to fix it. The used alarm ecu was only £13 so no great loss. I could try a siren. Will have to locate it and get a part number and try one. Just using key for now or lock then unlock quickly and letting it self lock.

Prefer to fix it though the I can get rid of the car lol

Locking the car with the key disables the alarm in any case.

It's just that some people forget the siren module and focus on the ECU.

I am no expert lol. I read some have had the bsi software updated at a dealer or somewhere with right kit and that fixed it too. So annoying electrical faults. Mechanical ones I can handle. Modern cars ha.

I found the alarm siren and switch, disconnected switch and siren and car locks and obviously no siren or lights flashing as if the alarm is going off.
Anyone know of any consequences if the siren remains removed? I guess the ECU may keep a log of it missing but not got any dash warnings yet with it running.

You just won't have a functioning alarm for the interior or exterior protection.
