Lexia 3 Diagnostics Kit Instructions

Post by jwalshe »

Hi all, Hope everyone is well. It has been a while since I posted! I own a 2002 C5 and a 2004 Berlingo and just bought myself a Lexia 3 diagnostics kit from Easy Diagnostics.

Before it arrives, I thought I’d ask if a guide to using Lexia exists. I’m very much a newbie at this but quite computer savvy, so I’m hoping to learn quickly and get to the stage where I’ll be able to help others (I’m based west of Peterborough).

Thanks loads!

Unfortunately not. As the Lexia/DiagBox equipment was only for PSA technicians (and not for the public) their mechanics are trained on it. The Lexia 'clones' are not authorised by the PSA group, so no instructions are available.

Ah, that does make sense, I guess! Thank you for the reply. Looks like I’ll be doing lots of research on here then! 🙂

One very important tip is NOT to change anything you are unsure of. Double (and triple) checking anything first could save you from 'bricking' an ECU (or, worse, your car). If you know you are going to be making changes record what they were first, so you can, if needed, go back to how it was.

Thank you. I will be very cautious indeed. My C5 2.2 is currently in safe mode so it’ll be good to at least find out why that is. I should be able to learn the menus fairly quickly but definitely not taking any risks. I love the cars too much for that! 🙂

The best starting point would be to run a Global Diagnostics, then go into each option, read the errors, clear them (some errors HAVE to be read before they can be cleared), and then see what happens. If she goes into limp mode again (after a drive) go back in, run the Global Diagnostics, back into each option, read the errors and note them down, as they will be 'live' errors and not historical ones.
